Yeah that true, that's why we got Online mode for the Wii version.
I believe the one thing that could make the series perfect would be a real Multiplayer mode, since we're already using split screen why not have up to 4 players?
I would love to resurrect Goku, Gohan and Trunks vs Broly or those kind of matches. This would also allow for real team battles like Goku and Goten vs Vegeta and Trunks. Although for a better experience, have only 2 players on one console, the other 2 should be somewhere else with their online. :P

...and I loved every last one of 'em! I'm with you on the tweaks though, I think they've come a long way since Budokai. I hate all the non-flying characters too, they have such HUGE disadvantages. Also, I do hope that each character becomes more unique. (They recycled ALOT of each characters moves in Tenkaichi 3.)

Didn't bother me at all...and for the way that the engine is built, they weren't left with too many options. I can't wait for this one...

What do you mean by the same movements? I think they move differently. However the button combinations for most of the characters might be very similar. This isn't your traditional fighting game where as Budokai 3 was more towards that (not saying it is traditional either). Tenkaichi IMO captures the spirit of what is DB and that is a huge reason why I like it. The battles on Tenkaichi are fast and fun and emulate the battles on the TV closer than the original Budokai series. Fighting in Budokai IMO felt.....limited, where as Tenkaichi it is open and free, you can do what you want to do. However I will admit that the Budokai series has more depth interms of fighting where as the Tenkaichi series, everyone basically here or there fights the same way. I don't mind that too much when it comes to this game cause again it isn't your traditional fighting game and battles look great and are fun to play. Basically I like it cause it is simple, fun, more open and I believe it captures the spirit of what kind of battles that were on the TV series. I can't wait for a PS3 version.
My problems with the series is that EVERY transformation counted as a character =\. I really hope that Battle Saiyin Armor Goku ISN'T a "character" but a different costume. They do and don't have cut-scenes
they've..for the most part worked in the lines from the show into the fights
with sub-titles
but for the more important parts like story events (Goku going SSJ FIRST TIME) (Special Beam Cannon on Raditz ECT)
will be done it sorts of Scenes
and will mix in with the gameplay

I actually liked the separate characters. In Budokai 3 it pissed me off because I could only play as Gogeta SSJ4 for 5 seconds, then the fusion would be in null. As to where in BT you could play as SSJ4 Gogeta as long as you wanted with out downgrading. I also liked Goku's new spirit bomb in BT2 where you can get interrupted and still be able to do the spirit bomb, although one thing that pissed me off was that when you turned super saiyan you couldn't merge with the spirit bomb like in the first Broly movie. Although I think some outfits will remain as separate characters because of the saga time. Like Saiyan Saga Vegeta will likely be just that costume because his form after that is the oozaru ape, where as in the android saga he never uses the oozaru form so his next form is just SSJ1.looks alright. same dumb movements though. and the hits look terrible. hope they drop tenkiachi if they are thinking of making a game for 360 or ps3 game. this game is crap compared to budokai 3.

It´s quite good inded...the background sometimes will even react to the energy of the battle(eg:if you use the giant energy ball with "kid majin buu",the background will change to a destroyed planet ;))

looks alright. same dumb movements though. and the hits look terrible. hope they drop tenkiachi if they are thinking of making a game for 360 or ps3 game. this game is crap compared to budokai 3.They ALSO need to work on the cutscenes. The VERY 1st Budokai is still the best when it came to cutscenes and that was YEARS ago. I don't think they fixed it in this series from what I have seen, but if they do a true next gen version that the cut scenes will be MUCH better than what it is now.
They do and don't have cut-scenes
they've..for the most part worked in the lines from the show into the fights
with sub-titles
but for the more important parts like story events (Goku going SSJ FIRST TIME) (Special Beam Cannon on Raditz ECT)
will be done it sorts of Scenes
and will mix in with the gameplay

Well what I mean is the quality of the cut scenes. DBZ:B1 had quality cut scenes. The cut scenes looked so natural and fits. Look what I mean

Outside of it being cell-shaded, the 1st games cut scenes are so much better, it is not even funny. The scenes were using in game graphics too. I hoping with the new gen DBZ game next year, that we get to experience scenes like the 1st game again.

the cut scenes are crappy because the tenkaichi story covers alot more. the original Budokai games only went to like the cell or Buu saga, this game covers pretty much the entire series.Oh well. Like you said. It's a complete different team making BT series.

You can always plug in a GC controller, I find the Wii mote more interesting though, It makes the game feel newer.

I lost interest in DBZ games because the combo system is too easy and the characters never really changed. I like the fighting style & customization with the Capsules tho.
I honestly think the the best game was on the PS1...I had to get mine mine modded to play it.

There was a lot more fighting variety in this version than whats been done recently. Plus the used the SSJ4 and the boss was Bebi as the Saiyan Gorilla. GT wasnt even playing in the US at that time. OK, i dont think they ALL are alike. More times you see that same power up scenario repeated through different shows. After so long it gets old, ya know. Im sure there are many others that think the same thing.

I agree. In the older Dragon Ball games each character had there own specials that u wouldve seen used in the series. Now everyone just has one or two energy blast.

Well I will say this which I said in this thread, most of the character play the same. However the combat is fun despite how they move. I mean look at the newest vids Negi posted, the fighting in it is awsome. I think it would be REALLY hard to impliment such a Tekken like battle system while making the characters making them fly and move responsively like they do now.
The whole point people seem to be missing when it comes to DBZ games in general is that they aren't the most in depth fighting games on the planet. Super DBZ was made for the more hardcore fighting game fans. I like Tenkaichi more than the original Budokai for the reason it feels like a "True" DB fighting game should be, fast pace and fun while capturing the epic feel for the battles. I again understand that it will not have that deep fighting system, but that isn't what I look for in these games. I really hope they will make atleast one more Tenkaichi game for the PS3.

Mr. Satan Useless? He saved earth for Satan's sake, Had the funniest attacks in Budokai and he's the overall comic relief character that all fighting games need.
Besides he would do fine against DB characters so he gets less credit than deserved.

EXACTLY, as long as the Wii shares Sparking with the PS2 you won't see major stuff like what you seek, however if it was a Wii exclusive it is possibly for a major graphic upgrade seeing as the game doesn't push the console to its limits, barely halfway( come on, GameCube had REmake and If the Wii can do better than the Xbox being stronger than the Cube you can expect major awesomeness ).
So yeah the game being shared just dumbs up the Wii version, When it comes to cel-Shaded Graphics the best you can go is with the Wii, if you want realistic crap go with a 360.( DBZ is NOT realistic in any sense so Wii takes it. )

if they can get the animation and smoothness of movements of naruto for the 360 combined with the open fighting arena's of dbz it would be great and i think it can be done. they just have to include alot less characters. but to me tenkiachi is just quantity over quality. who cares if you have a 300 chars when they all move the same.

Yeah, I'd rather keep the PS2 and Wii share the game, AND PS3 get it's own game NEXT-GEN game, Although I'm rather sure it may fail.

i sat down and played it for a minute, i haven't really gotten far enough to pass judgement, some of the new story mode fights are really long with multiple parts, like the show. I beat the world tournament with SSJ3 Goku in the saiyan training outfit and it was cool. :thumbsup:

they skipped a bunch of crucial stuff, no saibamen, no gotenks vs. Buu, no Gohan vs. Buu, no captain ginyu, and alot else.
as far as gameplay, there's some improvements and some stuff i don't like, but they did a decent job making most of the characters feel different.

To use them in Multiplayer, since when's story mode such an important aspect in Fighting games, besides this is some improvement since the first Budokai, every other game had crappy 1P Mode.

The playability has improved a lot and the teleporting is easier than ever, making the fights more like the anime, it is annoying though, I got pounded 9 times in a row by perfect cell, he just kept teleporting and whacking me in another direction, the most I've chained is about 4.
I get what you're saying bout replayin the whole dbz stories over an over, I just think it's about time we got to play from the start of dragonball, through dbz, to the end of gt.
Now if they made that game, I would be amazed!

I was really surprised when I first loaded it up, I unlocked loads of chars without knowing cos I had a complete bt2 save on the mem card ( automatically unlocks chars you've earned ) :?Hmmm, that would be interesting if they did the entire series from begining to end, maybe that might happen on next-gen systems. They had a short cameo at the end of Dragonball GT, on the very last episode they fought each other in the World Tournament. They're the descendants of Goku and Vegeta.

I think the best I've done so far was the 5th fight.
Actually, I like playing with Appule. I'm really damn good at the game, so when my friends play as SSJ4 Gogeta (f**k*** GT >< ) I throw in Appule so I can just embarrass them. His move set isn't that bad. If you really want to know the biggest crap character, it's "Freiza's Soldier". Hol-ee crap. Punches do almost nothing, and are slow as poop coming from a constipated fat guy. Both of his main moves are crap energy beams (L2 Triangle to do it with one hand, L2 Triangle Up to do it with two hands!) His special does decent damage, but it takes your own health away too! One interesting thing about him though is that his alternate costume is a completely different soldier. You can still only have one Frieza Soldier per team though, which I think is kind of lame.
You know, one thing that irritated me that I noticed last night is that they somewhat overpowered Burter. He's always been fun to play with because of his speed, but that was always balanced out because his hits only did like, a 3rd of normal damage. Well now they do just about normal damage- each INDIVIDUAL punch. Plus now when somebody's doing a combo on him, he can just start punching them right in the middle of it since he's so damn fast.
And what's the point of Sim Dragon Mode? I played it, got through a fight, then it wanted me to do it all over. I was like "No thanks", and went to the tournament (with the CRAPPY time system)

Burter is a little overpowered, he can do his autododge move with only one blast stock.
i like how they did mr. satan in this one. he was too strong in all the other games, and in the original budokai games he was actually good. 8-}

and hard to get used to for some moves (like grabs!..that's now instead of Up+dash it's Up+dash slight pause dash)
the Camera is diffrent too
in BT2 by default it medium (there is close,medium and far)
in BT3 it's A (translation close) so choose B (translation medium)
the whole thing with the camera alone makes it kinda rough...

and if ur looking for someone one to beat cell I like Metal cooler cuz hes like an andriod and doesn't need to charge up so its endless attacks and he has good slick moves, or kid buu cuz he changes fast also and has some crazy moves that could catch u off gaurd :thumbsup:

lmao seems like we all tried it, after I lost with him I figured it was time for great ape, does anyone els have problems with alot of lag when playin online cuz i fought this one guy and I swear we looked like moving pictures, I only had 1 good non lagging match

LMFAO I just kicked this dudes @$$ twice on online play, he went to being cheap and used ss4 gogeta so i used Baby vegeta lvl 3 the one before monkey and he was kicking my @$$ at first then I came back when I was in red and him green without even transforming and be him then he requested a rematch so I picked Nova shenron and he picked ss4 gogeta again :| but this time I wooped his @$$ lmao he only got 1 hit one me, I found myself a new fav character Nova Shenron 8)I might try Noeva Shenron this time. Noeva Shenron doesn't really even seem that good though. I'm gonna go get some password characters. I'm gonna fight fire with fire! I'm gonna use the password King Cold to unlock the REAL King Cold! >:D

Oh wait, it turns out you can't use password characters in the tournaments. :( But I almost won with SSJ4 Gogeta. I was fighting Super Perfect Cell in the Cell Games in the finals. We were both at orange but I was getting too excited and too scared so I died. I could've beat him if I didn't get too nervous.
lol nice try my tournament time went off so I went to online play Nova Shenron is good if u catch em with his blast attack thats like 1 and a half health right there its a reallly good advantage if they are at their last green bar, but I wana try the tournament with him hope it comes back soon
