WMV Video Format??

I've been trying to find an AVI to WMV converter, now here's my question...

Should I really get the converter or should I just get the Codec needed to play AVI??

you could use any of the files sharing programs and find the codecs for them. By the way, if you are using windows media player, codecs are the way to go. If all else fails use vlc media player. It plays just about everything!!

i advice you to get any video converter, the best video converter i know it can almost convert all known video formats.
ive just finished converting all my vids to mp4 cause is better to have videos in a better format and they are compatible with almost all players.

mp4 ftw... just remember, if you convert video to another format, the quality will be as good as your source video. I haven't used wmv since 2005, and use convertxdvd, it burns any format to dvd compliant disc... and with no slowdowns like Nero

Well, Right now my Vista can ONLY play wmv and avi which was very shocking to me since vista's supposed to be the almighty Windows version. 

If I choose to use a converter, anyone know a GOOD one they're using??
