Which Villain would you like to see in the new Batman film?

eh... idk by Two-Face.. I think both Eckhart and Newton stated that he was either either dead or not going to appear in a sequel.. I think he mastered Two-Face in The Dark Knight film and he doesn't really need to be in a sequel..

I agree with Catwoman though, definitely needs to be in. Berry was swexy in the '03 or '04 film, but the story just didn't seem right...

Harley Quinn would be a good surprise.. maybe taking a little revenge at Batman putting the Joker in Arkham.. (By the way, has anyone else noticed that in the past 2 films Arkham hasn't really been mentioned.... )

3 things would work

1. Riddler or Catwoman because they are classic characters.

   a. Problem is that Nolan doesn't want to rehash any previous villians, he said he did Joker because it was essential.

2. Penguin as a mob boss. Bring in penguin with Croc, Deadshot, Bane, Firefly and other iconic minor Bat-villains as henchmen. It's how Penguin is in the comics now day.

  a. Same problem as above, plus it's obviously going to be more expensive with multiple villians along with little time for character developement. Plus Nolan would probably downplay the Superhuman aspects of a Bane, or Croc.

3. Ra's returning with Talia, and the League of Assasins. This opens up a chance to bring in a Deathstroke, Merlyn, Lady Shiva, and other fantastic martial arts ninja type players, again demonstrating multiple villians.

  a. Probably too left of center for Hollywood. While these villains are common place to the comic readers, most average folks don't know about them. The other problem is that even if Liam somehow survived the 1st film no villian has ever returned in a Bat-Film, and Talia alone without her father is a tad too obscure, unless an Anjolina Jolie played her just to wow the audience.


Its a tough call to follow up the Dark Knight. It has to be spectacular, it would have to be on par with that, and thats the problem. A 4th film based on Arkam Asylum is the only other no brainer, but this is too early in Batmans career, and theres the whole Batman is on the run, and rogue in Gotham now, and it just doesn't fit. It's going to take time to figure this out so it may be a while b4 part 3 gets done.

Hush, or RIP are possibilities that could work too, but at such an early stage in the Batmans career, theres so much that would need to be left out.

Also Deathstroke isn't really a Batman villian. Bats, and Slade have rarely fought. Slade is really a villian of Nightwing, and Robin with the Titans, and Outsiders.

With Batman on the run then it seems like a merc/hunter type character will be needed. Who could they hire? Well Bane is a well known Merc, but Nolan doesn't want to reuse villains. Although I can't really count Bane's appearance in Batman and Robin, it just wasn't Bane.

I'm not sure if going to one of Batman's lesser known villains is a great idea or a bad idea. They offer more choice and many of them are more realistic such as Hush/Deadshot etc but they aren't the best known villains and perhaps the audience may not react well. It is a tough one, especially the approach Nolan is taking to the series.

Penguin as a mobboss or Kingpin-esque character is the idea I've been toying around with ever since I saw TDK, but I see the idea has already been put forth.

Also, as much as I'd like to see her return, I don't think they'll use Catwoman after the hate her first movie received. Unfortunate. And even if they did use her, I doubt Berry would play her, since she hated the movie, and I can't see anyone else as a Catwoman >.>;

Mr. Freeze might be interesting, although he doesn't exactly fit the realistic bill. I don't really know much about Solomon Grundy, but he doesn't look all too Fantastic and might fit in well. Now that I'm thinking about Grundy, maybe he could be the henchman for mobboss Penguin?

What if for the next film, another vigalanty comes in to try to take the batman down?  Like Green Arrow. Or what if the next film there's a bigger manhunt going on and its some heros like arrow and a few mercs like deatstroke.

If they put a bounty on his head, I could definitely see people like Deathstroke or Deadshot being the next villains. If they wanna complete rework the origin/story, Bane could also work for this.

Maybe it's just me but I'm rady for something completely different, the manhunt to catch Batman seems pretty cool but maybe it's just time for a proper JL series of movies. I want to see DC pull off the team movie.

I am not so sure it's going to focus on a manhunt. I think the point of all that was that Batman wouldn't be perceived as a goodguy in the public eye, and that he would be looked at as a villian by the law enforcement by and large. I see a villian committing murders, and Batman getting the blame at 1st.

You wont get a Grundy type because he's a Superhuman character.

I honestly see Nolan ending up picking Penguin, or Riddler, and re-imagining them in a darker realistic version like the "the Batman" toons. Ledger was more rag tag, and less dapper like that version of the Joker, and I could them using a Marylin Manson esque Riddler to appeal to the masses.

Bale at one time said the 3rd movie was going to be the best of them all so there must be something good on the plate.

Just got Batman: Arkham Asylum this past Tuesday, and the villain portrayals in that game are pretty freaking awesome.  From that, I've come up with five more villains that could be used in the next Batman film:

Harley Quinn: Since the Joker is probably not going to be in the next film, Dr. Harleen Quinzel could become Harley Quinn after getting kidnapped and tortured by a few "former associates" of the Joker.  Casting: Let's see your ideas.

Hush: Tommy Elliot, formerly a childhood friend of Bruce Wayne, now one of his most feared enemies.  After Tommy cut the brakes on his parents' car, his mother (who he hated) was saved thanks to an emergency surgery performed by Thomas Wayne.  Tommy Elliot grew up hating Bruce, and eventually becomes Hush, his face obscured by bandages and his mind clouded by hatred.  Casting: uh....crud. Again, I'd love to hear your ideas.

Clock King: If done correctly, the Clock King could actually be a good villain, using time bombs (cuz he's obsessed with time and all that) to threaten Gotham.  Casting: Malcom McDowell.

Firefly: In keeping with the more realistic style of Chris Nolan's Batman films, Firefly would be an arsonist who uses rather creative methods to make it look like he can fly away from the scene of his crimes.  Casting: Chris Evans (yes, I know he played the Human Torch...)

Poison Ivy: No plant control powers; she'd be a radical bioterrorist who uses chemical and biological warfare to terrify the citizens of Gotham City.  Casting: Since so many of you want to see her in the next film, post and tell me who you'd like to see in the role.

I was actually thinking more Clive Owen as Hush. I think he could pull off Hush's particular brand of insanity much better than Mr Bond could. That would be the other reason I wouldnt expect Daniel Craig. The next James Bond is gonna be starting up soon.

I could see Depp as the Riddler, but only if he didnt play him as a psychopath. The Riddler was a sociopath. Playing him as some cooky nut job ruined him in Batman Forever.

But Hush is not a crazy villain, is ever not ben caught yet and never goes to Arkham, is like Rah's al Ghul or Lex Luthor. a enemy close to the hero but not insane. Plus, Craig as played a very good performance how the bad guy in Mission Impossible2.

i think is very good the two: riddler and Hush. because Hush's very enemy is not Batman but the Ridller!
