Here's my top 5 picks, and who I'd pick to play them:

The Riddler----Come on, people...you know you want to see a reimagining of the Riddler! Besides, in that alternate reality game for The Dark Knight, the "Gotham Times" had a letter to the editor written by one Edward Nashton....a.k.a. Edward Nigma...a.k.a. THE RIDDLER! Casting: Either Johnny Depp or David Tennant.

Black Mask----It would be cool to have someone who the Wayne family unintentionally ruined as a villain. Casting: James Remar (he voiced the character in The Batman)

Catwoman----Am I the only one who expected her to be in the next film after hearing this line?
"Can it hold off a dog?" "....it'll do fine against cats." Casting: Jessica Alba (cuz I wanna see her in a leather catsuit)

The Phantasm----"Batman: Mask of the Phantasm" gave Bat-fans (don't hit!) a brand-new villain in the form of Andrea Beaumont, a former love interest of Bruce Wayne who became a much darker vigilante than Batman after her father got killed by the Joker. If done right, a Nolan-esque Phantasm could be the foil to Batman---remember, at the end of The Dark Knight, the public blamed Batman for the murders of the corrupt cops and Sal Maroni. Casting: Jessica Biel. (What? There's no law saying you can't have Jessica Alba and Jessica Biel in the same movie!)

Two Face----Yes, that's right. I personally think that Harvey Dent didn't bite the dust at the end of The Dark Knight.

David Tennant as the Riddler would be awsome.

Phantasm wouldnt work like that because they cant use the joker anymore.

Maybe have scarecrow do some more supervillany instead of being a punk taken down in a few moments, maybe with him going a bit insane and donning a hat and an outfit made of burlap.

Clayface would be intresting to see done, but as to which version i cannont say. Maybe a new version of clayface, perhaps batman axidently creates this one the same way most versions of the joker get started, by batman axidently knocking a masked man into a vat of chemicals. Red Hood becomes clayface instead of Joker. Would be neet.. Ron Pearlman for clayface perhaps

I don't know if Clayface could be done in the Nolan films....it's too fantastical. All of the villains seen in Chris Nolan's Batman series so far----Ra's Al Ghul, the Scarecrow, the Joker, Two-Face----are more realistic than any other incarnation. If Clayface was just disfigured instead of given shapeshifting powers, then maybe it could work...and yes, SpiderMew, I think that Ron Perlman would be perfect for that role.

There's about a half billion people who'd love to disagree with you, DARKTALBAIN---and I'm one of them. Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker was one of the best parts of the film, bar none. Just don't compare the Joker from TDK to Mr. Freeze or Poison Ivy from Batman & Robin---THAT film sucked.

I wasn't joking . heath ledger sucked as the joker . He was depressed , dark & moody on screen . It's exactly what he was in real life . I don't even think the guy was acting , he was just being himself . He deserved no nominations for his " acting " skills . The Joker totally ruined the film for me . I'm glad that he didn't have more screen time than he did .

To me the definitive Joker personality is from TAS . Mark Hamill is the Joker . Too bad bad he so old that he couldn't play the part . They should have had a real actor play the role for Joker ( not ledger ) & then just dub over Hamill's voice .

Lol well nvm he wasn't. To me he showed no signs of depression or moodiness in the film. But yeah he was dark, but that's how I have always seen the Joker. I believe Heath Ledger, off-screen, did turn kind of wacked a little bit because of trying so hard to get the Joker character down.

This is a tricky one. The Nolan films have a more realistic approach which means some of the characters will be harder to portray in a way that remains true to the character.

After the destruction and madness of the Joker, the calculating qualities of Ras and with Rachel gone it only makes sense for the villain to be closer to Bruce personally. A new love interest to replace Rachel so to speak. Although the female villains are limited. Ivy I can't see working with the realistic direction. Talia would cobtinue the Ras saga but meh, not really a villain. Harley is a bit too similar to Joker so that leaves Catwoman. Not exactly the most threatening character, so maybe as a side villain ala Batman Returns. Although been there done that....and no one can beat Pfeiffer in my eye.

I would say the best idea would be The Riddler, but only if he is done well and not a Joker rip off. And throw in Catwoman to spice things up

After the Joker my favorite villain is the Riddler.. maybe a pure evil one like in the saga of the demon of the bat when Nigma become crazy and kidnap 5 children and kill everyone in is path untill catch batman for give it to sacrifice at the spirit of the bat...

Or maybe Hush or Red Hood: the first is the best friend of Bruce Wayne when was child, and Red Hood is the masked identity of Jason Todd, the second Robin killed by the joker... but for make Red hood i think there is too much to explain for a movie...

Killer Croc is my first choice.. if not.. then definiteyl Riddler. I'd like to see Catwoman too at some point... though she's kind of a wild card as she could go either way and be a villian or a hero.

mmm.. killer croc is not a heavy weight villain.. is good only for do the big guys with the boss... catwoman is interessing but is not even her a full villain... i think Hush is better because is a new entry and plus is a friend of Bruce so they can work on flasback and other history of the evolution of the character. If in this new series of Batman movies we see only the old villain already do by Burton and Shumacher i think it loose some very interess....

Maybe we can have Killer croc and the Penguin beside him... an old villain and a new, or Zsaz and Hush. batman is full of characters with potential, i think is an error just using and reusing the same 3-4.
