Author Topic: one of my closest friends has died earlier today (Read 786 times)

Hello everyone I thought I would go ahead and post this to get this off my chest so I can try and rest easy tonight. One of my closest friends roger died earlier yesterday morning. He was like a second father to me, he was my mom's ex boyfriends father. He died of cancer. He was truly special to me and treated me like his son. I loved him almost like he was my biological father. He was found dead about 6 hours after his family visted him. His family member left his house because of the fact that he had cancer so bad that everyone was forced to leave the house because his immune system was so shot. We found out 2 hours after he was found dead. I really miss him but I have not fully mourned because im the type of person it takes anywhere from a full 24 hours to a full week for me to mourn the loss of someone due to me trying to keep my emotions in check at all times. I am going to his wake as soon as we get the information. I just thought I would take a moment and honor his death with alittle information about him and let him know I will always love him. R.I.P Roger!!!

PS: Please even tho I dont think anyone on this forum is that heartless take this as seriously as if it was your own father/mother/family member. I dont want any rude comments.

EDIT: Also if you live in VA or fredericksburg take time out of your day and read the obituary for him. I cant disclose is full name but his first name is roger.

i do wish you the best in this tragic time. 1 thing that i have learned from my daughter is that GOD dont put nothin in ur way that you cant handle. EVERYONE can handle there problems is just a matter of time in urs and mine situation. just remember keep ur head up high and never be ashamed of who roger was to you. Very sorry to hear that, the pain must be hard especially with someone so close, but you must stay strong for them. They will live with you forever in memory. And theres no shame in expressing yourself, you have support from a lot of people. My condolences to you and your family and I hope you feel better soon

Hello. I feel sympathy for you and your family. Your comment reminded me of my friend from high school (he got killed by accident). Now I think you are having hard time living without your friend, but I hope your feeling gets better. I pray for you...

I feel your pain . My Dad passed away years ago & it hit me pretty hard . Tell you the truth , I'm still not the same .

Srry to hear that man... Sometimes its a test from god i dont know why he does it but everything that happens is for a reason, and i bet he's in a better place looking down on you right now.

Thanks guys for the comments I really appreciate them. Im still waiting on the date of the wake, I know for a fact that the funeral is in kentucky and I cant make that due to 1 not having a car and 2 not having enough money. We are still trying to contact his son to see how he is doing. Hopefully everything will go smooth and the wake will be soon.

Damn, Prea. I'm so sorry to hear about your loss.. I too know what it feels like to lose someone very close to me, so I can only imagine how you must feel right now. But stay strong, and keep your head up. And like Nutpatch said, Your friend is a better place, and im sure he wants you to stay strong and live your life to the fullest.

Thanks juelz. I will be fine after the wake where I can pay my respects. I just wish I could go to the funeral ... it seems like every member of the family or close friend ive lost over the past 3 years I could not pay my respects or go to the funeral. Im still very sad/pissed about that especially about my aunt which died late last year. This last 3 years have been really hard for me.

Ditto,while in high school i lost in an accident a somewhat close friend...it was a terrible situation i will never forget(and i still remember my mental images from that day as if it was yesterday)
With time i'm sure you will get over it,remember the good times you shared with him

I had a very dear uncle pass recently from Prostrate Cancer, so this hits pretty close to home for me my dude. I wish you all the best friend...and thank God his pain is over. You have my sincerest condolences...Be Ease.

Poor guy. At least his suffering is over. I'm an atheist, but I'm sure he'll be a lot better off in Heaven.
