Inspired by Magus's awesome sprite, I've decided to try my luck at creating a character. This is my first creation and I have no idea what I'm doing. Any help would be appreciated.

Standing animation seems fine, running's somewhat jerky, walking is rather jerky near the end. The sprites aren't bad though.

Who's Bison are you using as a base? PotS's?

To me it looks too much like Bison still .  Try to change a few more things to take that away . Not a bad job though .

Sounds interesting.. but yeah.. the sprites need more work, because it still looks way too much like Bison.

Nice edit but it looks too similar to bison. Like Superman is a Magneto edit but he is different enough so that he's not TOO similar to Magneto. So maybe you should just keep editing him until he looks distincly different.

Indeed this is a good start, maybe you should make is head a little bigger, edit a little his pants, belt and add a chest armor. Good luck anyway.

good start considering there are only three sprites. maybe use thanos' stomp that sends shockwaves or whatever across the screen for one of his attacks. modifying juggernaut's earthquake would work as well. I hope you or someone finishes him, we need more good brotherhood members for mugen

I agree with what we heard before, you;re off to a great start but there is still more to be done.

Which costume of Avalache are you trying to base this off of? It doesn't look like any of his costumes quite yet.

The Breastplate needs to be joined, the helmet needs to be blue, but not a bad start.

It's a great start, but you also need to touch up his outfit. avalanche is supposed to be wearing a body suit there. bison has a coat that hangs below his belt. your sprite still ahs that although he's recolored.


see bison's waist?

if your gonna use bison for a base have you tried the sf alpha one...?  Avalanche is a pretty big dude and that guy is really skinny...  BTW who is that bird girl with avalanche and mistique?

He was a big guy then they changed him to be thinner . It all depends on what artist was drawing him at the time , just like every  other character out there .

I always remembered him more as the bigger guy like in that comic shot MunkyMouf posted .

Just make him like your favorite version , but still make him look less like whatever base you are using .

I had the same problem with  Medieval Spawn . Which artists rendition do I go with ? I just chose my favorite & mixed a little of the others in with my own flare . Then made him look completely different from the base .

I'm still working on avalanche. Also, I remember him being big but not that big. According to marvel comics, avalanche is 5'7'' and 195lbs so he's not that big. I think the sfa Bison is too large and I'm planning to use that base for another character. In the mean time I was fooling around and made this animation.

Um.. he still looks too much like Bison.. I wouldn't make any more animations without changing the look of Avalanche..

Here's something I recently made.



I didn't make this to post here, I just sorta ran into the right base IMO for Avalanche so I decided to sprite him. I used Omega Red as the base and I think it came out pretty well. Besides, Omega Red hasn't been used a great deal in any WIP or made char. So, this would be a good chance to set Avalanche apart from the rest and have him looking really MvC as well. Aside from that, I remember him being a pretty big guy as well. :-?? Feel free if you wanna use it, if not, it's all good and much %%- to ya. :thumbsup:

i would use clossosus or however you spell his name as a base if you want a buff version or is you want a smaller one use cyclops or some one lol
