He is still very beta, but I should have a video up rather soon. This Ryu is going to be very different from most of the ones out there, and he also will not have any Hadokens, or anything of the like.

All I have so far is his stance animated, along with some movements and such.
You can expect him to be a very defensive character, dealing out very small damage, but being able to take a wallop, as well as block and avoid many attacks.

I'm new to this, but I hope to have a video up as soon as I have all the absolute essentials completed.

A grappler Ryu.? That's awesome, man. I always liked using Zangief and Goro, so I'm sure this'll be great.

I have the sprites made for 5 different throws already....I jsut gotta put them in. I'm still having trouble with that though x_X

Have you checked this tut out? It helped me a lot with getting sprites into FF right:

I'm interested in how this char will turn out. I know there will be a lot of bickering because of no hadou-kens, and such.. but I hope you follow through with this char.

Progress is being made, but it might be going slower then expected, since I still have to update meh webcomic sometime this week, and write up everything for the next chapter...

Anyways, I just recently coded in his one main throw....it's his only attack move so far Rofl!

Very interesting concept. I'll be keeping an eye on this one for sure.

BTW, I agree with Tenspeed. He might go over better with some changes to his head/face and a new name. I can't think of any other Judo masters in MUGEN, so why not go all the way and make him a totally original character with Ryu just as a sprite base? Just my thoughts, but he is your character so do as you see fit

Ryu is only the base for his movements. All the attack sprites are being made from scratch....
Taking into mind I have like over 200 sprites done, it would reeaalllly suck doing the mall over again as someone else.
Sorry, but he is probably gonna stay the way he is. (I'm open to feedback though xP Not trying to shut anyone down here. I just don't want to make him a second time o.o)

I think you should just stick to Judo Ryu and only change what you want to. It's Mugen, it's you doing the work on this character however you imagine it. Someone's gonna gripe about something no matter what. If they have such a huge problem with it they can make a character themselves or do a private edit to their liking. You should be happy with your work before anyone else is. Either way, I'm really looking forward to this Judo Ryu.

No griping here, just offering my thoughts. Whatever direction worksa decides to take this character, it will still be a cool concept.

Couldn't agree with you more on this. Like I said before, it's his character and he shouldn't do a single thing to it that he doesn't want to.

Thanks for all the support guys! I've done a bit more on him today, maybe I'll post some of the new stuff tomorrow after school.
I'm also spriting someone else as well. Someone completely new to mugen, but I'm gonna keep that quiet till after Judo Ryu has been released...
