I was thinking. Maybe I should host a Avatar contest. The same Rules would apply to avatar contest as to the Sprite contest. IMT is just crawling with amazing talent but the thing is not all people are talented spriters which is why I want to have this contest. the poll stops on sunday so start voting.......now!

what type of avatars are ok to use?

EXAMPLE: cumstom template, no template, swords (must get a IMT mod to ok that before saying it is) or just classic sheilds?

so witch ones are ok and witch are not?

well once i got the poll votes on Sunday i was going to put out the rules ..... or not. But I guess it would go week by week like If some people would like to make custom templates. It would depend on the winner of the previous week picks

There's a very good reason for that

he will start using it 2morrow .

Talk about it in a PM if you have to .

I think an avatar contest is a great idea . MM44 can run it , this way he won't be entering & it should be great .

But to tell you the truth their has been a lot of problems with the graphix comp in the past . People complaining about others works , templates , etc .... causing a lot of chaos

MM you have to set the rules & stick by them . If one artist dogs another's work & they have an entry in the comp , their submission will be eliminated . NO EXCEPTIONS . That way things will not get out of hand .

I heard it took 3 creative minds , in a joint effort to make the avatar in question

But that is just hearsay . I wouldn't truly know who made that guy's avatar

I'd recommend some kind of size limit. Avatars by nature shouldn't be huge.

I think thats a bad idea y bann over sizes ones? smaller avartar can stand out just as well. If any thing they should be sized that they they can still be here and 80% of the image is visable if used here at IMT

well if u want to go by nature we all should be using Squares. The shape of them should be up to the creator unless the rules state other wise for that we week. The Avatar is sapposed to repersent u online. In that since the avatar is a lil piece of u online. It tells people a lil bit about u by the image u chose or the ways it looks, shaped, style, etc. The avatar is an extention of u and by limiting them ur limiting ur self.

4 me the avatar is a big thing, it a thing of beauty. Its like life, its who u are and there really isn't any two alike. They all tell there own story. The wide aray of avatar types and size here is one of the things that make this place more engaging to the eye.

This is a passion for me. I really love this stuff. I love Art

True, but theoretically someone could submit a 1280 by 1024 wallpaper as an Avatar, and that seems to defeat the point of an avatar contest.

would the idea of there being two people running this sound good to anyone?... that way if one goes mssing or is otherwise inactive the contest would still have another person to run it.
