I just don't want to see Chun-Li thousand kick a vending machine in a commercial. That would just be retarded.

Liu Kang's a former monk who needs to participate in mortal kombat
Sonya was with the military hunting down Kano
Kano was a member of the blackdragon which killed a partner of Sonya
Shang Tsung while he was displayed to be old, not as old as the game, but he was a shapeshifter running mortal kombat.
Sub-zero was a bit different since in the game, his story is he got killed by Scorpion, and not Liu Kang.
Kitana while she was in MK2, her story was the same.

As for the new DOA movie, none of the characters really matched up.
Christie wasn't the cold killing machine she was in the games.
Tina was more of an adventurer then a attention grabber.
Kasumi's story was nearly perfect.
Ayane's was messed up since she was Hayate's lover instead of half sister.
Hayate's was messed up a lot, because instead of having medium hair, he had short cut hair, and instead of waking up thinking he's ein, he woke up knowing he's hayate. The movie was trash.

This new SF movie seems to focus on fame, and media rather then people who can really fit into the roles of each character.
They should just make Mr. T be Guile, and Tom Cruise be Fei Long, because they already messed up on this movie.

Sadly after watching Like A Dragon, my hope for game movies has died.

Also they casted Kristen Kreuk as the main character. It can't get worse then that.  She belongs in corny soap operas.

Edit: The only way I could seeing it getting worse is if they casted a blonde porn star to play as Cammy.

after taking a look at the cast, so far, some very odd choices for actors, Michael Clarke Duncan as balrog, it could work maybe, Neal McDonough as bison is a lil hard to picture, and Taboo as Vega...WTF who thought that up, they put my culture to same with this choice(since Vega is spanish and so am i )
