Human Torch Update

Here is Human Torch with all of his new sprites, new fire FX, a new Hyper Attack and various tweaks (like an air dash). I'm sure there is more that could be done, but I just want to move on for now and I figured it would be a shame to not share him with everyone. Let me know what you think, possitive and negative. Make sure to grab the most recent version of the Baxter Building stage by Dead-X too. It works great with Human Torch.

The shadow looks really awkward, especially while he's flying. I would make the argument that, since he's actually emitting light with all of that fire, he shouldn't even cast a shadow on the ground (and the flames around him especially shouldn't). If it's possible to get rid of that shadow, I would reccommend doing so.

The new Human torch are asome the effects looks great congratulation for the update, even when i punch the opponent to do the combo in the air always the fast punch stuck and it`s infinite ,the punch is like the kick of chunli but with his hand`s , i try it like 10 times and always happen, good luck and thanks =D>

Very good work on the sprite and effects  :thumbsup: ! There is some bug with the multi punch in the air ... when it connect ,the multi punch don' t stop (I' ve tried it on Thor by Loganir) ; and on the Thing  :-w , I' ve do just one hit (he was to far to connect) but he just stayed in air and didn't fall until I hit him with another attack ...

It would be great if for the next release , you add to him some intro with the Think  :-w and spiderman , and more voice

Should have been at the beach already.. but I needed to give this guy a fast test run in training so no major feedback yet..
Just found one glitch

- When he preforms his QCF+pp hyper in midair he ends up back on the ground immediatly (like a teleport almost) even during superjump

yeh acey much better than the old release. but the only thing i would say thats wrong with Human Torch, his shadow. it looks crazy when he performs hypers its all over the floor lol and also when hes just hovering there it looks weird. i dont know.. but everything else looks real good  ^^(PM)^

I think the effect coming off is beautiful.

I think he might look more in scale if he was bumped up just a hair. That might just be my own personal preference though.

Now I noticed some shots have the 4 on the chest, and some dont. Now was that on purpose?

Just curious, doesnt effect my opinion, I really like this update :thumbsup:

Good character, I really like it, anyway there is some stuff you may want to improve (in my personal point of view)

- Aerial Rave: The enemy goes way too up, the only finisher I can do is the hard kick
- Animations: Is incredible how Human Torch looks now... I REALLY love the new sprites, however, in some moves, like when he throws a fireball or his standing med punch, you need more frames, specially for the fire effects sorrounding him, maybe is better for you to separate fire effects from Human Torch, so you can create the frames of him with more freedom, and then, add the flame effects using a helper that is present always, so when he changes animations or moves, the helper changes too, so, you can add more frames to the flame effects, without using a lot of SFF space or lots of sprites (like Nobuyuki's Magneto, is more or less the same basis)... anyway from the begining until this... I really love the new set of sprites.
- Normal Moves: The launcher seems to give a LOT of yvel to foe...
- Super Moves: The fireball in the move in which he thows one can be the same size, just change vels (personal opinion) also you can aply what I said about Human Torch, it looks like it misses some frames (or animates somewhat slow).
- Hyper Moves: I guess that you need to delay the aparition of the Hyper BG, justdelay it until super pause effects are gone... but is just cosmetic, nothing big really.

The only really big thing here could be the frames completition, but besides this, he is just wonderful (not every char has a place in my roster, but Human Torch deserves the honor place... :) )

Keep on going, based in what I'm seing in your sig, I guess that G. Gobblin will be better than the first version.

Excellent job! The old look was nice but the fire was sort of grainy.

Finally got the chance to sit down and actually play him. Here are my thoughts...

- Jump: A forward and back jump animation should be added. In a fighting game characters jump a different way depending on the direction. If an example is needed play with any random character in MvC jump forwards and backwards and you'll see what I am talking about. :thumbsup:

- Attack: Infinity Blast, while a marvelous looking hyper has too much advantage. For combo happy players (like myself *coughs*) I can link it right into the Nova Blast and literally devour their health meter. While I think it's fun comboing the snot out of my enemies other players may not think it's fair. The hyper is fine on it's own though. There is a way to prevent players from spamming, make it so that Torch can only perform 1 super at a time while the hyper bg is visible.

- Fly: If I were you I would consider giving Torch a flite command seeing as how almost all the MvC characters who are capable of flying have one. Storm, Sentinel, Magneto, Dr. Doom, Iron Man, War Machine, I am confident in saying that Johnny Storm can fly just as good as anyone of these aerial combatants if not better.

- Stun: I recommend adding in a few more stun animation frames when he gets hit and an air recovery anime from launchers. Right now everytime Torch takes a blow he has 1 anime frame, more hit frames would be a welcome improvement they make fighting game characters seem livelier. The best method to use for accomplishing this task is to keep the current stun animation and make it active during a light punch/kick, make a couple more hit frames for when a medium punch/kick and fierce punch/kick connects.

- Taunt: Maybe give the Human Torch more lines? He doesn't hardly say anything for half his special moves and hypers he just shoots fire. I would think him boasting often while kicking the other persons butt would be a little more interesting, after all alot of MvC characters say something cool when they do a special move and the Human Torch is one of those super powered showboater types. Making jokes and wise cracks are his thing. Simply suggesting to add more voice samples from the Fan 4 cartoon to the rest of the specials moves Torch has.

Overall the animation has improved wonderfully and the 3D effects gives more of a realistic feel. This is a HUGE step in the right direction Acey. I am proud of what your team has accomplished.

To put it simply this Mugen creation is fantastic!

The best thing about him is the new flame graphics, he is the most realistic original capcom character I've ever seen.  I love teaming him with the Thing, he's awesome.
