this was nice but idk....i mean the effects where on point but after all the hype, delays, and how well they did other beat downs it left me not fully satisfied.

b/c most fight have effects and some dont

I aint even gonna lie, this was .....dull.
cool fx, and a few good MA fight parts but...lackluster even with the outcome. Ok i rather this was done on deathbattle. Lol this was fan picked anyway if ya ask me so ehhhh.

I thought it was a cool fight. Some good effects too. After the long wait I expected something longer. That had to be shortest fight yet.

Decent video, but ya, it did feel a bit underwhelming.
After seeing Street Fight Assassin's Fist, I felt like this Ryu just looked like a dude in cosplay. He didn't really feel like Ryu. But whatever. I feel this was a poor match up anyway. I don't know who wanted to see Ryu and Tommy fight anyway.

it was a stupid match up and indeed ryu was more like a cosplayer than a ryu the fighter.

they could have did so much more. for example in stead of having the new suit as his regular, they could have made it a super mode. Tommie knows how to tap into the morphing grid, he created the dino thunder rangers.

when ryu went evil they could have had tommie stave off his attack for a lil while, after which ryu could gain control and go into his zen mode. tommie then would activate the supermode (new suit).

but this is a dumb match up and i hate seeing power rangers match ups because they always normalize (nerf) them. the source of the rangers powers are cosmic energies. in most all fiction this energy is placed below god/ reality bending characters. most poeple dont know this or study abilities in general so they lack this knowledge, so when they see a ranger go ham they call bull.

look at the White v Scrop, just because White teleported around people throw a fit. Mind you in the show they teleport every episode but because they dont use it in battle or use it a little difference people call shenanigans.

I agree, it wasn't the best match up.

I was wondering about the newer green suit, was it used in a later power rangers? I have no knowledge after Turbo. However I did see Tommy was the black ranger later on as a school professor or something..

Whenever an MMPR Ranger makes a return cameo in today's Power Ranger episodes, they don't pay attention to continuity. The Green Ranger powers were destroyed long ago, hence the need for new White Ranger powers. I think Tommy's last appearance (in Super Mega Force Rangers) he wore green, not white. Though for that episode EVERY ranger reappeared. Though, you must consider, this IS a children's TV show after all. They know kids won't remember or care. Plus many kids haven't watched the MMPR seasons, hence they wouldn't know anyway, which is a tragedy.

Heck i dont know any kids who even watch the show to barely remember any of the rangers versions , plus depends on which era too. It came out when i didnt even have kids and was younger, hell i was 19 when it first aired! My kids came along years later but by then it was other stuff out. So most kids that seriously know the rangers history are die hard superfan kids or young adults or they are my generation or my sisters gen adults.

I like the white ranger better than the green anyway.

Kids don't know because I bet most kids don't maintain interest past a single season of the current show. The age range is very very narrow. That's why Saban works so hard to sell those toys! Because he knows the current group of young fans won't last for long. And aside from DVD purchases, the adult fans probably don't bring him any profit.

I was in high school when Power Rangers came out. I used to watch while I baby sat the kid down the street since he was way into it at the time. So that's where my few years of knowledge come from.
I was about to say yea I recall Lord Zed targeting the Green ranger specifically to finish off his powers. Then they made him the white ranger shortly after. Then in zeo he became the red ranger. I saw he was the black ranger professor one day as I was going though the tv channels and stumbled across it. I never saw him come back as the green ranger again, I guess that explains the upgraded helmet when he pulled out the dragon dagger in this fight.

This is one of the reasons tommie is concidered, " Ranger God". But yeah in dino thunder tommie found the dino gems, used morpher to contain the power, and created the rangers. watch the season for all the details.

dont ask me how or why because its never explained as far as i know but all rangers are connected and draw from the same power. Which in the early series was established as the morphing grid and is composed of cosmic energies. "All morpher" draw from this.

things bounce around in PR after the Zordon era but in, i think it was operation over drive, the the season where adam returns as black that they bring up all rangers being connected through the grid...
