SpRiTe Of ThE wEeK cOnTeSt #52's Theme
« on: June 21, 2010, 12:18:38 PM »
YOU HAVE 2 WEEKS to make your entry. Entries will be due FRIDAY July 2nd.

This is a special week. Even though the comp has been going on longer than a year, the numbers didn't show. But here it is officially week 52, a years worth of entries. So let's make this one good.

Week  #52's theme is .....

" Trumpets sound "

8-bit chars upgraded into the year 2000 game style

This is kind of a cool idea that I think will be fun.  Make your favorite 8 bit character & sprite them in a more modern way.

Anyway there you have it , good luck to you all . Same deal as before, PM me your submissions . I will not accept sprites that are just palette swaps . You will actually have to do some alterations to the sprites or make them using a different base than they are .

You have until Friday July 2nd at midnight to enter your submissions

Hm, yeah, I'm not quite following either...is it just any 8-bit character in a different style? Like bringing someone like Megaman up to date?
I'm back!

So if we're graphically updating an 8-bit character, that would be like, 8-Bit Megaman to MvC Megaman, because MvC Megaman is more detailed than its 8-bit counterpart, right?

I could be forced to enter week 52 because of the theme. But I still don't have to enter anyway.

Well. After Slivern just posted, now I don't understand how to do it. How about like using Bionic Commando from 8-bit into MvC style?

Perfect example: Sniper Joe started as 8-bit. Spider Mew updated that to MvC style.

Another one: The Mario Bros. updated to the World Cup of Spriting entry.

Either one is acceptable. Just take a character from the 8-bit era and make a higher quality version.

How about I use an 8-bit char to CVS style? Don't you think it's OK I can "transform" to any style I want or does it have to be MvC?

EDIT: I think this would be like when I put original frames next to my edits, right? Can be, huh?
