Yeah, they also ripped off his Ryu, some guy at the guild made mugen versions of them and I made a tribute fight to Reu and TMasta because of how much I strongly dislike SFO.

Since Reu has passed dosnt that make all of his works Open Source now? Or is that different from when you cant contact the original author or they have forgotten about mugen?

If so, what difference does it make? Aside from every major Reu fanboy hating on any creation modeled from his work after his demise.

I think its a good question.

I would like to think it is open source now because.. and I'm not being callus here... I think he could care less now as he has moved on to better things (I am not being funny or anything of that sort) but, with his passing being not so long ago, I would advise anyone wanting to do something with his work to not use it as a base but as reference. It's what's best. You would not want to make a Evil-Orochi-Killer Ryu out of his Evil Ryu, release it because you want notoriety and credit as a creator and not expect a backlash from about 80% of the people here or at other forums when they find out what you used as a base.

But with that question alone its gonna upset and bother a lot of ppl. I would think that most would see it as "shameful" to use anything of his now. I can already imagine a great wave of hate towards anyone that does so. I mean it was such a big deal before and with other author's current releases being jipped. Whats to stop this from becoming more Mugen Drama.

Maybe its a question for the community as a whole? I honestly think this may become a huge issue just like warehousing.

Personally, out of respect for Reu I think his creations should remain closed source and I for one would never use his stuff for anything. I mean the guy passes away and everyone is wanting his creations to be open source so they can use them. We should have respect and leave his creations alone.
