IMT avatar comp. #4

Hi everybody. The Princess of the Infinity Deviants is here to bring the 4th IMT avatar competition.

 So what is this? The Avatar comp is a simple comp between artist to learn and grow from one another.  it is a friendly comp where we same tips and hints to help one another grow. The comps challenge artist by restricting them all to the same image or in so cases theme to see what each one can do when given starting base as everyone else.

The winner of last week was Rage here are there image/ theme selected.

This weeks Theme is Yu Yu Hakusho.  The logo dont have to be used.

1. To enter simply post your entry in the thread. One entry per person unless other wise noted.

2. All entries must me IMT friendly.

3. You may use any style for your entry. Templated or non-templated. normal square or shields. all are welcomed

4. each week the comp starts on tuesday and continues till Saturday. Voting is from Sat to Monday.

5. Once the winner is chosen he or she gets to choose a image/ theme for the next week comp. Please send you chose of theme/ image to me.

6. Rules for entry are simply the theme or image chosen must be used in the avatar in some way, shape, or form. For image entries the image can be used however you please, even just an overlay is cool. Please state how you used the image if its not obvious.

The goal here was to create avatar the encompass the ideal of mega man vs some else.

Voting begins on Sat so have at it. 

P.S. If you see something you like and want to do it your self ask. Most of us are willing to share tips. Thats whats this comp is about growth and learning.

idea: can we steal a rule from DT's sprite'otw

All entrys must be sent to DT by private message.

All entrys must remain anonymous, do not post your sprite entries anyplace before or during the contest for the week it is entered. Do not announce what you made , either.

make it so people don't play faves... but problem, who should be the "DT" for this contest?

If Rage is the one who receives the entries, than Rage can not enter the comp. It wouldn't be fair for him to see all the entries than whip something up that he thought was better after most the submissions came in. Not saying that he would do that, but to avoid drama he couldn't enter.

Whichever deviant never enters the comp. I've seen Rage, Swiziga, & Shinra enter the comp. Prea is in this week, so I guess that just leaves one lonely deviant.

I'll give you one guess on who that is?

Once in a while I will even " sneak " a sprite into my comp. But I honestly make mine the day I post the theme & before I ever see anyone elses. But that's only once in a great while anyways. Nobody ever seemed to get mad when I did that.

wow a lot was said here. . . . . personally i dont care how or who runs it. I usually do my entries the last day of the comp at the last min because i work better under pressure so yeah i would see all the entries if we did it that way b4 i did mine.

I see what DT was saying but to wait for the entries and then try to best em is sad. I personally do this for fun and thats my reason for the comp. I like to see how everyone use the base they are given. Its fun to see the different results. If you win dose it really mean anything. . . . . . .

I hate winning . I dont like choosing themes. and i think if you winner you should enter that week to so i dont have a chose to enter or not by weird way of thinking.

Ok say for example that everyone likes Spidermew. So he enters a sprite in the IMT sprite of the week  competition hosted by DT & they are not anonymous, everyone votes for Mew. Why? just because they like him as a person. He could make the crapiest sprite there is that week, but people like him so they vote for him & he wins. Now that's unfair in my opinion

You know what thats what scared the crap out of me at D-Gen. I won the comp for a month and two in a row. I thought they would get mad and what not but they were cool. So . . . . .IDK

But what i Do know is the New Deviant team is Shinra, Hollow, Prea, and Rage.

The other guy got Pownd by RULE #7 so we wont be seeing anymore of him. . . . . . .what was his name again.

Personally I don't mind it the way it is, so far it's only been us guys entering and we already know none of us are biased. I've had run-ins with people at IMt before but if they posted an avatar that was better than any of ours I'd still vote for them.

As far as I'm concerned it's about the art NOT the artist.

If you all want entries to be private I'm happy for Rage to take them in (and still enter the comps of course) but like I said, I'm not fussed either way.

TBH you guys are making to much of a deal about our comp. Over at D-gen it was a way to give each other tips and also to learn and grow. Over here it seems like it's gonna be a competition that you earn 4 million dollars for winning each week. As in way to competitive. Us deviants created the avatar comp to help each other improve. That was our whole reason. We never got mad at rage when he won the comp 2-3 weeks in a row you know why? Because he did a damn good job each time so why get mad? That's called being jealous plain and simple.

I say we either do the comp the way it was originally intended or throw it away now.

Either that or rename this from a competition to a show your skills of the week, or something corny like that.

i was sooo close to not entering. laptop died while i was rendering and had to start over
that site u posted doesn't have all the episodes, because they were removed for copyright. but i did find a site with them in megavideo links. i also got a firefox plugin that bypasses megavideo watch limit
only thing is u can't skip to whichever part of the video u want like megavideo when it plays in the new flash player
