Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen Thread
« on: June 24, 2009, 04:19:13 AM »
Yeah, just got back.

Huge improvement from the first film, pretty good plot too
(click to show/hide)
, Although for having it's origin from an 80's kid cartoon, there's a lot more language then I cared for. I expect that from persay G.I. Joe, but not Transformers. The human aspect of the film tended to drag at some spots, but they made up for that with funny so I didn't mind much. I recommend catching this at the movies, don't wait for a dollar movie or DVD.

I loved it. As for the swearing, it's war. People swear during war. I did find it funny because the first movie was more child oriented. This movie had a more realistic feel to it, my only problem was the camera's during the action scenes, so the same problem as the first film. As for the story, I don't really care for story in things that involve robot violence. You didn't need a story when playing rock em sock em robots, you don't need one now. Sure it's nice, but whatever. I paid to see robot violence and that's what I got.

The old cartoons story was just ridiculous with having a child as the main character. That's not realistic at all. Children just love to play outdoor games, board games and video games, they don't know how to deal with realism like war. Being honest, I only watched the show for the robots and the violence. I like how they added a ton of more robots to make the fights more dramatic.

so where did barricade ever go?

the guy disappeared before the bonecrusher fight in the first film, unexplained, and never came back. Dead guys like scorponok, blackout, and even bonerusher made it back for at least a scene, but no barricade.

Was kinda dissapointed honestly.
The big baddies of the decipticons werent all that bad....
Megatron, and even more so his master....were just pushovers.

Like seriously...his master comes with his big bad powers only to get raped by prime without even putting up a fight.

2 and a half hours for that? Damn...
They really did need to cut out that entire section about college tho. Completely pointless.

Aside from those complaints tho it was pretty good.
Tho I doubt I'll ever watch it again.

lmao that was great. IMO this movie was a greater improvement over TF1. Optimus actually used his pistols instead of that crappy arm cannon he had in TF1, the robots were more like the cartoon. Starscreams voice actor was more like the voice actors from the cartoons.

As for Blackout, I don't think that was Blackout, I think that was Grindor. I could've sworn Blackout died during the first movie.

I thought the movie was pretty good... I really found this movie more child oriented because of the reduction in screen time for the humans and the ten time increase in robot battles. I thought they took the swearing a little too far though and attempt of humor with the "comic relief" twins. I swear they were one frikkin scene away from making the movie completely cheesy. Sideswipe needed way more screen time because that Corvette was SICK!!! But I liked the way they made Soundwave the communication jammer like he was in the cartoon and I thought Ravage was pretty sweet, just sucks being the little Transformer though always getting ripped up...
They clearly tried to relate more to the animated series (i.e. Matrix of Leadership, Jetfire changing sides,
(click to show/hide)
) and the scence were Optimus gets Jetfire's parts TOTALLY reminded me of Beast Wars when Primal gets Prime's spark and became Optimal Optimus.

Anyone else feel that scene in 170000 BC was Beast Wars?

Other than that the movie was insane! In the good way! I The robots were the stars, but I just wished that some other robots were given the spotlight, instead of those twins!

Jetfire combining with Prime! Jsut like in the show!

They overdid it with the mom.

What ever happened to Sunstreaker & Sideswipe Being the twins? What happened to Ironhide being the old country tough guy always fighting... & Starscream ever so ploting to take leadership from Megatron? What we ended up with is another Michael Bay special... (I'm Michael Bay & I do whatever the hell i want with somebody elses creation... screw Hasbro & the die hard fans)!!! >:(

Thats totally amusing, considering most of the transformers community has been eating this movie up liek a bucketful of dicks at a gay rally, and even hasboro has gotten behind the guy.

Actually Optimus power linking with Jetfire wasnt inspired from anything. It was ripped right from the shows.
so that was cool.

Nice movie, but too many funny & useless moments with small pieces of fights between each of them.
At least had more good points to make it up for that.

I also want to know where on Earth did Barricade go?

Does he was kidnapped by aliens or what? ;*))
(Even if he is one)

i have to say, i am a big fan of the transformers and i was a kid back when it first aired. it was like heaven coming home waiting till 4pm to see them on. now i am an old head and took my 2 kids and nephew to see it.  they loved it. ok the swearing was a bit much but i have to say it was funny. i guess if you was a robot and spent years around humans you would be swearing too. lol. its what alot of us do. added some realism in there. i was on edge at moments and other moments felt like i was a kid again just this time watching it in live action movie form and not the cartoon.  as for skids and mudflap gettin all that airtime, well it didnt bother me, they added alot of humor to it. people in the audience was crackin up at them. oh and wheelie was a riot all to himself. he had me dieing too. this one is better than the first and thats a definete. the first wasnt bad either but this tops that one in my book. heyyyy  yall cmon, its the friggin transformers ya know. we all cant have it the way we want cause everyone has their favorite bots/cons but the movie is what it is, and that its a good movie.

yeah, well we still got scorponok and bonecrusher back from the dead, and even if you say scorponok ran away and didn't just burrow into the sand to die in the first film, that still leaves bonecrusher, who was stabbed in the throat and then decapitated.

did u c bone crusher in that fight at the end?  No, all u seen was the aerial shoot with him. Well to let you know in fact the wasnt Bonecrusher. Its was a cameo. The vehicle was part of the army forces that were there to back em up. Pay attention to the shoot inwhich it is shown.

Edit: I want to c the movie again to be sure cuz i read he was in the fight which i didnt c.

Edit 2: I see  Bonecrusher and Devastator appear to be in the film. Bonecrusher transformers and fights. He sapposed to be the 1 who shoot Arcee. Devastator is shown just in vehicial mode.

Scrop wasn't died in the first film he just had his tell removed.

Oh and for those who dont know transformers dont die if there head if removed. Only if the get to much damage (including statsis lock), sparkle is distroyed, apsorbe to much energon, and the new thing is rust. ( which may or may not depending on how  they rust.)

But i think the movie changed this rule tho *Iceman ThumbsDown!*

The script itself was idiotic dreck and the 45 minutes of cool robot fighting scattered amongst it wasn't worth it. Pass.

I think overall this 2009's movies have had the most potential but dropped the ball overall so far. Trek was good, and Watchmen was as well although it was expected to do better at the box office.

It could have been better, yes.

But I enjoyed it.

The fallen was cool, had a neet Egyptan look to him, would have perferd

But all the multiversal singularitys look differnt in differnt alternate universes.
oh and hes not exactly dead, because he trys this plot again in a couple of other alertnate versions of this movie earth, but failed.

I wonder which 5 of the orginal 13 where the ones to hide the matrix, probably 5 of the yet un-named ones.

Frank Welker coming back and using the same voice for soundwave was awsome, they just didnt apply the "soundwave filter"
(yeah he used the dr claw voice from inspector gadget for g1 soundwave but they filtered it for the cartoon)

I would have made the fallen constantly onfire
I would have mentioned the orignal 13 transformers, have sam talk about it and primus sence hes now connected to the allspark.
Devastator would have been a major battle for all the autobots, not some guy calling in a railgun hit.

More pretenders then just Alice.

Whealy would have rimed allot and had a slingshot looking weapon, and would ahve been a differnt color, like red or orange.

Ravage would have lived, and killed someone important.

The twins would have stayed an icecream truck the whole time.

ok so i saw it today online coz quite alot of peeps had some negatives bout da movie
so my overall grade would be 8.0

coz

1) sams mum was annoying
2) the fallen is skinny even megatron is bigger than him
3) soundwave looked like he could do damage but his A$$ was up in space humpin a satellite
4) devastator should have had a fight wiv optimus or ironhide
5) should have more pretenders
6) didnt see jolt do neting
7) where was barricade?
8) to much swearing coz kids watch this aswell
9) couldnt they fix jazz?
10) demolisher well he got owned by optimus still look at the size of him

apart from that music was good
fight scenes was gud
story line was gud
megan fox was well u get the picture
sig by jvalent2 what happens to hulk? tell you soon

It wasnt a bad movie but it was a check your brain at the door movie, cause if you stop to think about how ridiculous some of the things that go on in that movie are then it looses some of its fun.

Okay! First off, It wasn't a bad movie... but being a fan all these years of The Transformers i'd have to say i was abit torn by the use of the fake a** twins (Sunstreaker & Sideswipe being the real). The things that i would have changed are:

1. The twins (No Mudflap & Skids only the Lamborgini Brothers)!!!
2. Ironhide should have faced off with at least one decepticon & defeated him (I think he should have killed Demolisher in the beginning instead of prime because Michael Bay's version of him is trigger happy & Big D was shot all in the face by Optimus with no mercy).
3. Didn't need Jolt just Ratchet to hook up the Jetfire parts to prime.
4. Devastator only in the film about maybe 15 minutes (& doesn't face any real Autobots worth acknowledgement).
5. And at the ending battle in Egypt, it had great potential for cameo appearences of great decepticons like Skywarp, Thundercracker, or Rumble (just a thought).
