I hate Dk's spike it comes out fast and Bowsers recovery sucks going upwards, But I guess you probaly hated Bowsers Flamethrower at the same time GG's though should do those again sometime.

so according to this and other facts these are the most popular fighting games to date so those who play competitively these are the games you should be playing to get good in if you go to tournaments and such, plus this list also give you guys a list of the top players in ssbb the game we all know and love and other games you like to play. Now after to pointing out one major thing i have another major thing i want to point out that blew me away until i read and seen some of the videos of the big dogs playing ssbb at EVO. The new thing i noticed and everyone else at EVO is that they play with (wait for it) ITEMS ON!!! seriuosly no joke at all they proved and found out that it takes

of skill to play with items on at high levels and it still works without bieng gay. So i do not know about you guys but for me since i plan on being really good someday and such i will follow EVO and what they are doing so i can compete and keep up from now on. So final say for thos who thought ssbb wasn't serious think again it's up there with other major fighting games plus i will post some thoughts of others who were there at EVO to express even more how hyped this game is even with items on later today

Alright ppl just posting alittle post of repsonses of those who went to EVO and what they thought of items and such is EVO and how it makes the gaame more fun and requires more skill to adapt and win when smash balls are in play.

EVO Repsonses

Brawl top 8 was one of the most exciting things for me at Evo this year, and I don't even own a Wii much less play Smash.

The thing with Smash is that as straight one-on-one competition it doesn't do anything that, say, SF or GG can't do better, but the items and stages make it something radically different from any other fighting game out there. Traditionally, the characters' skills and matchups have been the meat of competitive fighting games, and the Smashboards community still clings to that notion. But in this particular case, the terrain and items can also be part of the meat of the game, and Evo demonstrated that when enabled they enrich the experience.

Also, to Hellmonkey and anyone else talking about "randomness", I will give you an example:

Keits qualified out of his pool to make top 16. Why? Because against almost all of his opponents, he got the smashball ALMOST EVERY TIME. However, he qualified from losers because CPU was in his pool, and CPU raped him. Why? Because CPU got the smashball from him every time.

You could even see this in a few top 8 matches, where one guy clearly dominated the smashball.

Rather than being "random", the smashball is the core mindgame of items-on Brawl. And honestly, to me anyway, it appears to be a very rich mindgame, like Smash's equivalent to fireball traps & footsies, and more interesting than whatever the game has with items off.

I hope items-on Brawl remains in Evo next year and more Smashers learn the intricacies of this new game.

I've been playing Marvel vs. Capcom 2. I'm trying to get good and learn how to use magneto :/ (changed my MvC2 team).
I may be a way from brawl for a few weeks.
