That's the reason why PSN changed there policy a while back isn't it? You have to have the account active on the system if you want to use the DLC, but only 2 systems can be active at a time.

But back to marvel.
I guess magneto's quote fits:
"The dream... is dead."

So many possibilities, never to be seen...

Fairly sure that was to limit people from having friends give them a copy of whatever they purchased.

Actually, it works for DLC too. I still have COD maps that still work but were bought by a friend.

Ok, I have one huge question about this.

If the game is being delisted because of licensing issues, does that mean that:

A) the online servers are going to be brought down because Marvel and

B) On-Demand versions of the game won't even boot up?

because if that's the case, then this thread might as well lock tomorrow.

if what GLux says is true, then I guess it'll mean its time to move on to some other game. I'm already havin a blast playing Project M 3.0

But I REALLY hope they don't do such a thing. If not even physical copies boot up, then that means no more marvel tournaments...

The hype will die along with the dream...

I remember this happened with Marvel Ultimate Alliance as well. This licensing thing is a b***. Licensing is also why we'll never see Spider-man in the Avengers films.

C'mon, they already killed Darkstalkers, and if the problems with Marvel kill MvC, I really hope they come up with some good fighting games. They could make so many good games if they stopped being so stupid.

Well ono and his team are trying to come up with an all new fighting game so i guess we have that to lean on. the thing thats odd about that is it seems they dont have a clue what to produce so they asked the fans what they should make.....

If this was the 90s they would have pumped out 3 new ones already^^

an all new darkstalkers was a "bad idea" and CVS3 was a "bad idea" that all of us fans wouldnt want at all...oh no that would suck soooo bad 8=|
Lots and lots of supers so f*ckin what

I thought that games that run on online are only available until the developer company decides to pull the plug.
Hence why I refuse to play games PC games or any game for that matter that run only online...
But if it is true doesn't that mean capcom has the right to the servers and not Marvel? The license should only pertain to selling and distribution of characters images and not online games.

Well i think the servers can stay p unless i'm mistaken i believe the servers for MUA2 are still up. I think the main issue comes in selling the product featuring Marvel characters.

this is exactly why licensing stuff sucks sometimes.
they have a good roster of fighting games the COULD and SHOULD focus on from the past if they want ideas for a new game from fans. Example:
new Star Gladiators game... i would jump all over that especially if done right!
new Rival Schools game....Jump on that too
stop acting like retards and do the Darkstalkers game...and right.
def a cvs3 would be a good idea....but they would have to yet again license from Snk. Dont know how much thats gonna float cause of way SNK team is now.
so they got some good picks to do and plus a whole new original game period.  Better get it together Capcom.

Your Marvel games will still work long after they're taken off.
Fairly certain you can also still play them online.

Disney is f**k*** every contract of Marvel. I really hope Capcom add DC to the versus now, and let the game be even better than any MvC, so Disney sees what they're losing to their rival.

Don't know where you got your numbers from...

Street Fighter IV (all versions) sold 7.6 million
Marvel vs Capcom 3 (all versions) sold 2.6 million
Street Fighter X Tekken (all versions) sold 1.2 million

To put this into perspective:
Injustice sold 2.1 million
Mortal Kombat sold 4.6 million
DMC sold 1 million
Lego Marvel sold 3.3 million
Tomb Raider sold 3.3 million
The Last of Us (PS3 only) sold 4.2 million
Halo 4 (360 only) sold 8.9 million
Grand Theft Auto V sold 29.9 million

Over 2 million is healthy for these large companies, but Square Enix wouldn't green light a Tomb Raider sequel because it only hit 3 million sales.

I see... so that's millions, not thousands, and it's the entire history of the franchise, not just the single game. So when you say:

Street Fighter X Tekken at 35,000

Perhaps you should have said:

The entire Street Fighter franchise from 1987 to current is 35 million units sold.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Also I noticed from that page, Marvel vs. Capcom 3: The Fate of Two Worlds is the 19th best selling Capcom game of all time while Street Fighter X Tekken is the 32nd best selling Capcom game of all time.
I think it was the first of the Versus Series to be in 3D, so, people had high expectations for it. Shame it lacks story mode, extra modes and a good roster (I mean, seriously, so many good chars could have entered, while we have stupid choices there).
And yet it's still the main attraction at EVO year after year. I still think it's an amazing achievement but I sure wish it could have had one more balance update before the shut the door on that chapter.
lol, I didn't even know they still do manuals for games in this day and age...thought they killed that off. Could always try good ole ebay if all else fails.
I still haven't played this game, I need to get a PS3 or PSVita and grab a copy before they all disappear since now that it's discontinued.....thanks Marvel/Disney  \-/o
I bought it to start playing online again but my ocd wouldn't let me enjoy it without having that damn manual. lol
Same as gears of war, I lost my copy and when I go to the local flea markets or gamestop they only have the greatest hits version with the ugly black box..
