X-MEN: Days of Future Past mugen
« on: November 26, 2015, 02:57:11 AM »

Guys, this screenpack is just a prototype. I was a bit superficial when I made that background, so I'm gonna try harder next time.
After and only after Tombstone is done, I will start this new project.Until now I have basics almost done for one of the major characters and I just started another.  BTW, characters  will be  released  separately.  Now about what this project will contain from stages to characters. I will add historical stages with a few X-MEN references from the 62's Cuban Missile Crisis, 63's JFK bent bullet by Magneto to 2013 Rebels Time Portal. As for characters, I'll hopefully add at least 5 characters (I have one more character I'd like to add, but I'll decide in time). Like any game, mine will have a story as well. A time traveler super villain is sent back in time to kill one of the most important figure for the mutant and human race, but the mutant rebels will also send somebody to stop him. Now I hate to reveal work that's not even halfway done, so my advice to you is simple: don't trust me until you see more than half of what I want to accomplish. In this situation I either finish what I planned or I don't finish nothing at all.
I have a small preview of the story. These are just a few cutscenes. Enjoy.

And this song will play in the background.

Not a bad setup there. very legit cutscene.

The BGM sounds like its been looped, but not quite lined up.

Cool idea. The story and intro gives it a professional feel.

Thanks. Here's some drama for you lol.  :FAIL: This Daken-Cyclops-Wolverine dialogue is a bit longer, but here's a piece.

"I need your clothes. And your bike." scene lol

Ok, enough with reveals for today. It's nothing wow, but hope you like my idea.
I didn't add the tattoo at the time I took that screenshot. Sorry.

Hey Dev, I'd love to provide some Original CPS2 music to this when it's all done.

Projects like these are the best!

Whoa, those screens look awesome! Love the idea. Very Terminator-esque. Love it. Still not sure on how the game will play, is each stage supposed to be a different year??

Also, that fourth scene pic on first post, shouldn't it be "in his hands"? Sorry, I'm being a grammar police! lol
But it's only cause this looks awesome and I care. :P

You're right! 'In his hands'. I wanted to change it, but I wasn't sure. English is not my mother language so I might have some mistakes here and there, even if I try hard not to. Thank you for correcting my mistake. And if you see other mistakes, please let me know.  I'll have a lot of cutscenes and I will definitely not release this with grammar mistakes.
About the gameplay, I'd want it to be like a story mode, like Acey coded AvX, but at the same time I need to be down to earth. I have no idea how to code it nor time to learn, so everything will be random ish. Oh and not all of them stages will be in different years. For example I might have 3 stages in '84 and 2 in 2013 and so on.

And this is the last scene that will play after you beat the game. I planned more images for this scene, but this is definitely the last image that will play before the credits.
And this is also the last screenshot I am posting, 'cause I already revealed a bit too much than I wanted to. So I want to keep some for the final product. Enjoy.

If you'd like a proof reader to avoid grammar mistakes, I could proof read for you. Doesn't need to be the actual screen shots of cut scenes, just text in a text file is sufficient.

In MUGEN, you can set the order of characters you fight in the "select" config file where you add characters to the select screen. It's supposed to be the order of difficulty, but you could use that to group characters in a single time era together. But if you want the story to play out in different order per playable character, I do not think that would be possible. I haven't touched MUGEN in forever, so it may have changed.

Are you creating characters for this game too, or is this just a screenpack/story mode and people add in the roster the version of the characters they like?

Thanks! I will search for  you after I finish all scenes. Yes I will definitely add new characters, stages etc... And since I already revealed Daken who will also be the main character, this is how he will look after he steals some clothes lol. Of course I will add different palettes to it.
I'm already in the middle of completing the basics.

What base(s) are you using? Looks a bit familiar but can't put my finger on it.

Now I think I forgot to tell you that the sentinels will eliminate 3 billion people/mutants in my DOFP game. How they're gonna do that?
Here's the answer:

I suspect that these Sentinels of that future will send someone to kill off an important figure, therefore starting events that lead to this devastating future.

I didn't want it to be Daily Bugle, 'cause that reminds people of Spider-Man. And this is 100% X-MEN. I'm sure Daily Bugle is not the only NY newspaper.
