The person who made this bill is just angry because no one goes to his blog.

So is Sinhra, due to the SOPA situation and it's blacked out in protest.

EDIT: Is IMT going to be shut down when there's gonna be protest going on?

IMT is not going to be involved with any active interent demonstration. If the admin team was worried about SOPA actually passing in the U.S. then we would react.

I believe our stance on creative freedom and sharing content and information is pretty apparent based on our history.

Edit: Also, not to downplay the actions of Wikipedia and others, but I do not wish to close our forums of communication and free speech in order to protest for free speech. I find that as a conflict. Having Wikipedia close it's doors for a day makes sense since they are one of the most popular websites and eveeryone who tries to visit today will be made aware of the issue. Closing a discussion forum defeats the purpose. In the past IMT has been shut down due to the imoral actions of others and at this point we will leave our doors open and they will never close for anything short of force.

I like this petition personally because it's statement says to end piracy, not liberty.

It's telling the government we get that piracy cant continue, but were not supporting a vague bill that can be used to big brother the web.

Shame on Marvel, Image, and DC for supporting this.

Glad Dark Horse, and Oni press are standing against it.

Already boycot DC Comics, guess I have to boycot Marvel too.

I see why Marvel support this, anyone can download all of the comicbooks released every Wednesday, every week, always for free thanks to torrent and pirates. Marvel Comic and DC Comics are dying because of pirates. They are too much comics guys and too little business guys to be able to think up their own solutions to the problems.

I see why Marvel would be against piracy. I dont see why they support this.

A lot of artists are against piracy, but most know that is not what this is about so I cant forgive Marvels ignorance.

I can understand why musicians would be against piracy as well, but many have come out against SOPA, ang PIPA, and they have far more to lose than Marvel.

Most know that censoring the net is going to put more restrictions on the content they can release.

Most people against these bills are against piracy.

To be fair, some of us don't have a comic shop anywhere near us or a car or any money to spend.

To be even more fair: If Marvel would put out product worth paying for, people would pay for it.

This is exactly the type of stuff I'm talking about when I say they are comic guys and not business guys. There are many things they can do differently that would make them more accessable to the public but all they think about is getting the next issue out.

So if I cant afford an X-Box that would make it okay to steal one?

Not directing this at whiplash, but if youre against this because youre "pro-illegal download"

The petition is not a pro-piracy movement.

People are against this because of the abilities it will give the government to control, censor content on the web.

I see you're point... Does anyone know where I can buy Comics online? As I said, there is no comic store in my town and I have no car ATM.

I'm not against this because I've pirated stuff, I'm against this because this can affect stuff like fan-art, videos, and other things.

Yeah Mugen would be affected by this big time. SOPA works behind the scenes and is allowed to remove domain names without the website owner having any say. For instance Somebody posts a photo of Kanye on Facebook. A company complains that said photo infringes on their copyright – maybe a media company who contracted the photographer who took the original picture. Down goes Facebook.com. All of it.

Well thanks to petitions, and yesterdays blackouts it looks like PIPA is dead.

13 senators dropped support of this including 11 Republicans, and 2 Democrats.

The bill is expected to collapse.

I know yesterday every person I know on facebook was rallying, and passing the pettition around so I believe thousands of signatures were obtained in addition to the millions that had already signed.

It was very exciting to see people coming together. Earlier this year in Ohio we were able to rally together to overturn John Kasich's anti-union bill SB5.

Adding this nationwide rally against the government really shows if people come together theres nothing they cant do!

It's not even close to done yet. They'll try to quietly pass it through as soon as "the people" aren't looking anymore.

LOL

They arent even close to having the majority votes to pass this.

Not that people shouldnt stay vocal, but it's looking like it's a verge of collapse.

US Government: We hold nothing against sites that host user generated content.

MEGAUpload: Well thats good, we'll do our best to beat piracy, but we can't get all of it, mm k?

US Government: We are shutting you down for hosting pirated user generated content.
