As some people should know i came up with an WIP idea a while ago of and very old Ryu character.

I Called Him Grand Master Ryu.

Well i Started Working on him... i haven't got to much done but here is a Gif Showing what i got so far.

i have his intro done and coded to.. but i guess it cut it out when i made the gif!

Def diggin the idea. So other than the one handed fireballs, dpo you have any ideas for his other moves to make them more... "grand mastery"?

yea.. he will have a one handed fire ball he shoots at the ground then travles along the ground at the opponent.

and since he is very old he will have his huri kick but it will be on the ground kinda like kazuya.

and some other stuff i'll save for later.

Well i've been playing around with him a lil more an added some more sprites to him and coded a hyper real fast... still need some tweeking..

Very interesting idea. I still wonder what Akuma would be like when he was older.. even with the..... unlimited power? He still should be able to grow old like the rest of us...

No worries! he will have his cain on some of his intros!

And here is something new to show you guys!

Hyper Testing:

When he stomps his foot down it forces the opponent to launch in the air before he fires his beam.

And yes he will have more hyper's than this!

how bout making his clothes look old apart from the wear and tear a bit like goukens in sf4 or goutetsu in street fighter alpha generations

I like it. it finally a ryu with a slight different attack. my only beef is the holes in the clothes

oh yeah sinces he's a master now doing one handed fire ball do the super one handed, the standing one that is. now thats turely a bad @$$ master.

i'm going to try to give him a total of 5 to 6 hypers.... since he is very very old.... his moves will be a lil stronger but look more like an old man would do them....

he will not have the Raging Demon! for it is a Dark Shotokan move.... and Grand Master Ryu is not Dark Shotokan.

i was thinking of giving him a jedi like force move!

That new hyper is tight man!

If you want to have "force powers," try a telekenic "GET OVER HERE" type pull move.

Canonically? Ryu goes to train with Oro at the end of 3S. If anything, he'd have a few moves from Oro's reportoire - a Yagyou Dama, the Debris field from Tengu stone, the ability to throw one-armed free floating hadoukens...

Don't be ridiculous and give him force powers, man. There's plenty to draw on within SF canon here:

- Single armed hadouken; wofts slowly up and down (Gouken's hadouken + Oro's yagyou shot)
- Upwards angled hadouken (Gouken)
- Parry stance > counter (Gouken)
- Shoryuken into stationary Tatsumaki midair (Ryu+Gouken)
- Aerial downwards hadouken (Gouki)
- Mule kick into spinning kick for wallwire (Ex mule kick + Ken's focus attack)
- One armed command throw slamming the opponent into ground (Oro)

If you're going to do an aged Ryu, do just that. Don't just throw in moves from Son Goku and Luke Skywalker. Looking forward to something a bit more interesting than your current progress. Good luck.

thanks for the tips and info...

i've neven been into street fighter mugen characters.... this is my first one because i like the idea of and old ryu..

right now i'm doing all the spriting and coding by my self.... and i code as i sprite....

!

i'm having fun making this character and i plan on giving him that Grand Master feel!

if anyone want to help with idea's of spriting or what ever just send me a PM and we can talk..

oh yea.... i want him to have his Shouken.... but i don't want it took look like every other ken,ryu, or akuma character... if anyone one gots any ideas.... send me a PM!

the super background looks too flashy. that super hadouken looks excessive. his clothes should be normal not like a beggar, unless he is one.

C wit those clothes one of two things could have happened. Ryu has been hidden away in the mountains training 4 sum time or street fighting wasnt paying the bill so not he's literly living on the streets.
