Here we go, the start of the sprite contests again. I hope to see many participants for the renewal on the sprite contests after the long hiatus. After voting for the theme all last week by IMT members the winner is.....

Week #28's theme is .....

" Trumpets sound "

Nintendo characters!!!!

The theme is rather simple. Make a custom sprite of any Nintendo character

Anyway there you have it , good luck to you all . Same deal as before, PM me your submissions . I will not accept sprites that are just palette swaps . You will actually have to do some alterations to the sprites or make them using a different base than they are .

You have until Friday at midnight to enter your submissions

Also , please send me png or gif files . The jpgs I have been getting , I think hurt a lot of contestants since they lose quality .

To leave it open for even beginners to enter, I am going to count any game character that was on a Nintendo system. Just remember, if you are going to make a SF II character, then it will have to be your own custom sprite

AHHH bummer.

My main computer was just infected with a virus and I can't use it for a while. It'll be a miracle if I can even turn in a simple sprite edit on my labtop, but i'll try...

Seems like Nintendo characters would be those unique to Nintendo. SF2 was on Sega, and Sega CD, Playstation, and others. Pac-Man was on Nintendo too, but I see him as Midway/or Atari at best.

Um street fighter is capcom or owned by them. Nintendo and Sega were game console that offered the game, thus any game title falling into the original Nintendo, Super Nintendo, N64, wii and various Gameboy handheld are good to go. If they cross system it's simply because or licenses been bought over like sega to dreamcast to XBOX, etc.

I will say this however, Xena Warrior Princess was offered on N64 and I would like to see this character make it to a WIP.

Um it's just my opinion that they are still not unique to Nintendo, since X-Box doesnt rent out Mario. You might as well just make it video game characters period by that logic, since it could include Marvel, TMNT, Alien, Predator, Robocop, Terminator and anything else Capcom. Seems dumb to me, but it's not my contest.

I just try to make this thing fun for everyone, from beginners to pros. If I narrow these contests category down too much it makes it too hard for everyone to participate.

I hear ya, I wasn't really dissing the contest. Just defending my own logic since the new Street Fighter isn't even available for the Wii.

I can undderstand the logic from a diversity standpoint.
