OK everyone August 1st is past . You have until August 27th to submit your entries to me . This will give you over three weeks to work on your sprites . The winner of the last comp ( Spidermew ) picked the theme . Voting will go on for a few days .

The theme for the month of August is .....

" Trumpets sound "

Superhero's in Your Universe!

In every universe in the omniverse, superheroes come out a bit different, in one universe batman's mask looks a lot like a real bat, or spiderman bonded with carnage to become "The Spider" . Now its your chance, reinvent your favorite character(s) to be as different and interesting as you want them to be .

Anyway there you have it , good luck to you all . Same deal , PM me your submissions . I will not accept sprites that are just palette swaps . You will actually have to do some alterations to the sprites or make them using a different base than they are .   

Also , please send me png or gif files . The jpgs I have been getting , I think hurt a lot of contestants since they lose quality . Please try to remove your backgrounds .

Wow, this one sounds really difficult, and I'm not going to enter for this one. 
SpiderMew is smart to come up with this theme because this one is more with creativity rather than sprite skill.  I wonder if any sprite experts are going to enter or not, but wish to see a lot of sprites for this contest.

Well you do have a lot of time to come up with something creative.

If you need insperation you could read Bullet Points where Stever Rogers becomes the iron man because the guy who invented the super solder surm died before it could be made. In that Peter Paker is the Hulk and Bruce Banner is Spiderman.

Or you could read anything from DC's Tanget line or Just Imagine if Stan Lee created (then it list the hero like batman, superman, wonderwoman, green lantern, the joker, robin, aquaman, catwoman, shazam, sandman)

Heck you could even do something like, what if peter parker was bitten by a radioactive (whatever) instead of a spider, that was a popular section of SpiderMan magazene when it was running, kids submited lots of ideas like monkeys or flees or Unicorn, or whatever random animal they could think of.

I say give it a shot anyway, just look arround for insperation. You've got time. 


Then after everyones voted and people have wone we can present our stories or explain whats going on with our sprites.

Um m8 please read the rules. now you cannot use that idea. This whole contest is based on anonymously submitting entries so that people don't go for there favorite creator/Spriter instead of actually looking at the sprite and saying screw who made it.

So now you gotta go back to the old drawing board If DT does not disqualify you.

Could we sprite noncomic book heros like from cartoons?

As long as they are heroes & you make them original from what they are . Remember don't mention in this thread what you are spriting

Hello.  I hope I'm not doing necrobump.  I'm ashamed to say what happened to me.
When I was making the sprite for this contest.  I got kicked out of the place I used to live.
Now I'm living with my friends and using Internet at MacDonald.  I'm shocked that I had to leave my place.    I hope I find the place to live as soon as possible.  I apologize that I couldn't make entry this time; once I finish my sprite, I'd like to show.

sprite contest, not so much.

Get everything organized in your life & then worry about the sprites. You have to use the internet at McDonald's? D*mn !

 Anyway, good luck to you in getting things in life resolved.
