IMO Sony is the new Sega.

I mean c'mon. Sega has had many mascots but lost almost all of them.
So has Sony.

Back two console wars ago there was
Sega, Sony, and Nintendo.

Sega's Dreamcast came out after Nintendo and Sony, and the quality of the system was better, but do to being outsold by the other systems, Sega died.

Sony as of now is already in the red flag, and it's because of this red flag that Capcom is moving some of their sony exclusives to Microsoft and Nintendo. Imo it's a very good choice. Sony dropped their price already, and still it's in the red flag.

I honestly wish Metal Gear and Tekken went over to Microsoft so I could sell my ps3.

that is only because sega could not compete in japan. right now in japan the console war is only ps3 and nintendo. xbox 360 sales are pathetic over there.

Actually I would imagine the Dreamcast is pretty popular in Japan. I mean they still are making Dreamcast games. It's not like you see people still making PS1 games for it.

its not as popular as the ps2, wii, or ps3. sony is not the new sega. i mean last year xbox had about the same sales as the ps3 this year. it only did a little better. and with the price being cheaper than the ps3. next year trust me it will sale like crazy in japan with final fantasy.

You have to remember though. Every generation of video gamers, the population rate gets bigger, I remember back when I was a kid, anybody played games were called nerds and such, a few years later and everyone started raising people to play video games. So of course the statistics of the sellings of the next gen and the last would be a bit sketchy. Like I said though, I feel like Sony is the new Sega. I feel like I'm going through a total dejavu experience. The only reason I imagine Sony wouldn't turn into a multiplatform game developer is because they produce so much other things than video games, like CD players, headphones. I'm sure they produce tv sets, and stereo's too. I was really looking forward to Sony's Q-Rio, but it got canned.

nope I just get a paycheck and buy the ps3. I don't think that has anything to do with luck its called a job. you should try it out.

woa calm down tough guy, trust me ive got one. sorry i cant spend my pay checks on games, i actually got bills to pay. something you'll learn about when you grow up. 

i also pay bills like the water, and gas and electricity but i make enough to buy games and pay the bills. its something you might get to do when you get a better job.

well my bad, i like saving my money. with the thousand dollars that your about to spend on a 360 and a ps3 i can pay for one semester of college. something that matters a whole lot to me then you obviously. so my bad dude that i cant spend all that time on games when im here with a fulltime job and doing 16 hours each semester. ill rather buy bigger toys later then small toys now

Sony isn't gonna fail and we all know it. The worst it can do is be the level of where the X-box was last gen. That ISN'T too bad if you ask me. The PS3 is selling pretty well overall since the price drops (both of them). Also it is in the red cause SONY makes money on the games, not on the consoles themselves. Does Sony have some ground to make up, yea it does, but I don't see it failing like the Dreamcast. Sony just needs more games, and it is getting them finally. Next year is Sony's big year.

i pretty much feel the same way about it. but at the same time, sony is take a major pay cut when it comes to its consoles and game developers are getting the effect of that too. cuz i mean with the ps3 your getting close to a thousand dollars worth of gadgetry into one console for about 500 bucks, so that in itself is a major setback for them. not only that but also the simple fact that it takes so long and its so diffucult for developers to make games for the system that just like stated before, your having companies that were once didicated to the playstation now switching over to the 360. i see sony having a big year but then still fluctuating between sales...so i see late 08 being sonys year, then itll go on another drought, then itll be big again, and then another drought and so on and so on. where as by that time, theres going to be an evem MORE selection of games on the 360.

I don't know about you all,but if you have a high end Pc like me,Pc gaming owns,I got Crysis for my birthday,but it runs like crap because I have a processor that runs at 2.4ghz Im getting a new processor that runs at 3.0ghz,and for Christmas I got Enemy Territory Quake wars and Unreal Tournament 3 They run smooth because I already tried out there demos,  all of them special editions for the same price as a regular edition of a 360 or PS3 game.

I have a 40GB PS3 hooked up to a standard PAL TV with no internet access.

It's still f*cking brilliant, and now I can look forward to MGS4, RE5, GTA4, and quite a few others.

I have no intention of buying an Xbox360 that will probably get the red ring of death in my poorly ventilated cabinet at all.

...but I an envious of Wii owners for the next Smash Bros, but the current market demand putting the Wii's price up has put me off buying one completely.
