XBL and PSN Exclusives/Etc.

Made to discuss the PS3 and Xbox exclusives stuff (started out in the MK Topic, brought it here for a full discussion)

I think XBL gets a lot more stuff than PSN. PSN has gotten the MK Demo early and one free AC Brotherhood pack (I'm not sure if there's anything else...). But XBL got a ton of stuff, like early CoD Map Packs, the Dead Rising Case: 0 and Case: West things, and the hugely delayed GTA4 DLCs which each got delayed for PSN users several months (I think it was near a year for LatD).

I think its just more who can get the game company to go with it (usually with money)
It seems like MS has done it a lot longer than Sony as well.

MS: Let's pay [insert dev/publisher] "XX" dollars, we'll earn it by the next 10 minutes anyway. $$$
Sony: "We dunno wut to do, time will tell, " Let's focus some more on 3D.

MS is handling this smarter than Sony only because they seem to know what the devs/publishers want, and that is money.
Timed DLC and games is the most stupid thing this generation has brought us.

But Sony seems to learn though, look at those deals with EA.

I think Sony has the Exclusives advantage. Ex. Little Big Planet, God of War, MGS (although the next one is hitting Xbox as well), Uncharted, Infamous, etc.

My guess is that because Xbox only has a few hit exclusives (Gears of War, Halo, L4D) it tends to try to make the XBL users feel like they're kind of Xbox-exclusive-ish.

It would be nice if games could just be released for everybody at once, but then one company would buy an exclusive first, and the other would need to counter.

I've got both and I really prefer PSN. Even when I had Gold I felt like regular PSN gave me more. I also like how you can customize a lot more on the PS3, wallpaper and theme-wise.
One thing that bothered me a lot was the money system. I was thinking about buying the Passing for L4D2 (the greatest XB360 game ever made) but I didn't know exactly how much it cost in big-boy money.

Well.. XBL got the Dead Rising stuff first b/c they remembered that Dead Rising was only meant for the 360. Dead Rising 1 was, but when they made chop till u drop for the wii... God that game shouldve never even been made... *sigh*

PS3 has God of War III (which I highly recommend goes to the 360.. I dont care about having to use more than 1 disc.. we need it.. badly. everyone who had a ps2, and played the first two loved it.. well.. almost everyone.. that's why they made a third one.. Metal Gear Solid can stay on ps3 for all I care. I liked the series but in my opinion gameplay was way too difficult.

Uhm... I just dont like the fact that we had to pay for Gold first okay... while PSN was already getting the better demos... then they released Playstation Plus.. and now I just think that game companies stupidly forgot about the people who play the 360. We got netflix, espn, and all that.. but so do the PS Plus people.. I'd like to think that we actually get deals though.. I've been on my friends PSN and have never seen good deals for them...

Netflix is all PSN members, actually.

GoW is pretty much a no hope, Sony owns Santa Monica.
I actually think PSN gets too many of those sales. I remember I bought Dead Nation (very fun Co-Op) at 14.99 and next week it was $7 PSPlus. Man, one week and it could have been half price.

MGS has an easy mode you know. Its worth it just for the story.

I don't understand why we couldn't get at least one DR DLC. Case 0 had nothing to do with DR1 and Case West is the only way to know what happened afterwards. (PS, how bad is that Wii version? I got it through NOT having a hacked Wii and NOT downloading it, but never really played it too much.[too much RE4])
