I'm totally hyped for it. I've been waiting for Tag 2 ever since they made 4. I was really angry that they didn't decide to use the tag feature as a base for their future games, but I'm glad to see they're doing a sequel. I just hope a lot more vets from the first 2 games come back like Jun, Michelle and Kunimitsu.

I mean its the sequel to a long awaited title...so i doubt they would leave out anybody from the 1st tekken tag, I mean the feature thats gonna make it sell better than the 1st one besides the new game mechanics and visuals are the Classic and newly introduced characters to the franchise. Only reason why im not so hyped about it is because of mixed feelings, 1 is that all of my focus is on gettin my hands on Marvel Vs Capcom 3 and 2 I feel like of things are becoming repetitive in a sense that they have Tekken vs Street Fighter comin out, now they announcing Tekken Tag 2 and a lil bit of me is sick of seeing Ryu in crossover fighting games but only to a certain degree tho. (that has nothin to do with the tekken issue really but it plays its hand in the repetitive topic i was touching on)

i think its a bad time to announce this game. super street fighter 4 is out and its continuing to get updates/characters, and mvc3, tekken x street fighter/street fighter x is coming out soon. with all these fighting games competing (and they're from the same companies which doesn't make much sense to me) the sales for it probably won't do to well. but i could be wrong. that's just how i see it

Well as of now no console plans have been revealed so its arcade only. That being said for over a decade Tekken has been the highest grossing arcade success they are pretty much singlehandedly keeping what little arcades are left alive somoney is not an issue. Console wise Tekken has sold at least 5 million copies per iteration so again monetarily Namco has always had a good strategy with Tekken. People want to act like tekken is some obscure thing no one has heard of now that street fighter is back on the scene and this attitude is confusing to me. Either way the tekken version of the crossover wont happen for another 2-3 years there is no conflict between were to spend youre money as were lookin at a pretty wide time frame between ttt2 and txsf whenever they may come.

This week, the magazine reveals the game’s new “Stage Gimmick” system. The example of this system that’s shown in Famitsu has the player slamming his opponent into wall. The wall breaks, and the opponent goes flying, landing in a new area of the battle field where the fight continues. In Famitsu’s example, it just so happens that the player’s partner character is waiting where the opponent lands, allowing the player to continue the attack for major damage.

Hello flying get!

In this week’s issue of Famitsu, Tekken Tag 2 is featured, and there are portraits of Kazuya, Bob, Xiayou and Zafina. The article also touches upon a couple of the gameplay mechanics that will be implemented into the title.

Like in Tekken 6, items will be incorporated into the game. They won’t just change the appearance of your character, but you can also use them to attack your opponents. In TTT2, there will be a large number of variations for each item. Tag attacks will also play a big part of the game, especially because TTT2 will be taking Tekken 6’s wall system. Basically, you will be able to smack opponents into the wall and eventually destroy the walls (like in Tekken 6) but you will be able to continue your combo after this happens by calling in your partner for support. You’ll have to call your partner before the wall collapses though, so there will be some timing required.

The rage system will be making a return as well, but things won’t work exactly as it did in Tekken 6. This time around, it will be your partner who will go into rage mode once the requirements are met. Oh yeah, and the requirements to go into rage mode will depend on the characters in your team. So it may be easier or harder to activate it depending on your character choice.

they could have plopped this with tekken 6. i mean if dead or alive got away with putting tag mode with their game namco should have been able to do it as well. i mean i'll admit tekken is a bit more of a meatier game than doa , but they can do it instead of giving us a campaign mode that was crap

i didn't like campaign too much i'm not gonna really down it , but if i would choose between campaign and tag mode on tekken 6 i would've chosen tag mode with no hesitation. speaking of tag mode i am hearing taskmaster calling me back to the fight heh heh......

Obviously, Namco will add some new stuff since the Combo system for Tekken has changed over the past few years, so tag-team gameplay will play a part in combos and throws.

Which would mean that I could do more than a 10-15 hit combo as Lee and another character of my choosing...

Oh, and I hope some of the Jacks come back, but I doubt they'll ever stand a chance, especially that Gasoline guy Prototype Jack, who's my favorite jack.

oh bet that sh*t man. The SF4 style lookin one i think is gonna be one of those games to go down in Fighting game history as the best. and im sayin above SF4. how i felt about the CVS and SVC series and i liked the CVS games way more is how i think imma feel about SSF4 AE Versus SF x TKN.bBut namcos version does have me curious too. Those last bosses are crazy man. Akuma or Gill fused with Ogres or Azazel blood?? monster!! SMFH!

With Tekken Tag Tournament 2 being shown at AOU very soon, it's expected that we would see a bunch of new media for the game, and Famitsu is giving us just that. They uploaded a ton a of new screenshots for the game, and also have a write up of some of the features in the game. Not so sure on the all Tag suggestion. I like 1v1 as well as Tag. Always having the choice as a game mode sounds good, though.

I've kind of always thought of the TT game(s) as a sort of MK Trilogy type of thing. All the characters meet with a couple of cool new features.
