What is a G1?

OK I have been involved in games since I was basically born. I have grown up my whole life with video games. But I have no idea what G1 is. People refer themselves as G1's when they say they are kickass at games or something. So what does G1 mean in reference to gaming? If it means basically they were in the first generation of gaming then I would just call them Hardcore gamers. Not a "G1" So can anyone please clarify this?

Im pritty sure a G1 is someone who posts at screwattack's fourm.

They call their fans G1's all the time in their videos.

G1's are the most bad*** people on the planet. I should know, I'm on of them.

But "srsly" the term G1 is derived from ScrewAttack.com, in particular their weekly podcast SideScrollers.

SideScrollers was the first ScrewAttack production back in 2006. The term G1 is in reference the radio term "P1" which stands for Priority One. Radio DJ's refered to P1's as their prime listeners, those who would tune in on a constant basis.

The essesnce of G1 is that their fanbase is their priority, and in this respect, G1's are bad*** cause they their fans really support what they do. I've been following ScrewAttack for little over two years now and their community is highly active and flat out fantastic.

In fact, ScrewAttack just had a gaming con two months ago that was such a huge success, that the population that attends next year will probably be about three times as huge.

I'm actually working on trying to get some funds together to rep IMT at SGC next year.

Intresting note most people dont know, is that Beast Wars and Beast Mechines after all fall into the G1 universe.

Hey man, start saving now. That's what I'm doing. They had a time slot focus on mugen but it was like 2:00 Saturday morning.

I want try and get a panel to show off our stuff and promote the site, and get a general pop. hands-on on EoH, which hopefully will be finished by then.

Well, They're based in Dallas, TX so it's probably going to be somewhere in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.

Initial Pre-reg was 15-20 dollars.

Hotel deals they had were like I think 99 for all three days.

Too early for any details for next year, but soon as I know, you'll know.
