The [canceled] Avengers game

This is pre Alpha footage of THQ's Avengers game that was canceled. Take a look at it before it gets removed.

That actually looks pretty good especially for a pre-alpha.  A four player Avengers movie based game againt the Skrulls would have sold well for THQ and marvel, so sad it got cancelled.

yeah....I understand the angle they were going with. Probably trying to bring the avengers in a new direction but....truth be told.....I dont think it would have did well as a first person style game but thats just me :\

I'm digging the First person perspective. It allows a greater deph of immersion and even possible replay to a typical third person brawler, and it's multiplayer too. I would pay to play this, and I find it interesting that the hulk literally snapped a skrulls neck instead of KOing him.

I liked that they were trying to go for some emersion with the first person, but the gameplay looked kinda awkward.

So they'll be fighting skrulls in the movie huh?
I figured.

Probably Skrulls, but you never know, most movie games are almost nothing like the movie.

Movie version Thor and Movie version Ironman are in it, so I imagine so.

To be honest, for me... 1st person's a lot better and would have been quite new for this type of game... I would rather see that than them repeating 3rd person over and over and over again.

His costume changes to the Ultimate costume in the movie...don't knw why though. I don't really know what to think about the game. At first I thought it was a bad idea but after looking at the preview and that its co-op, it could have actually been fun if done right. Too many 1st person shooter games though imo.

What do you think the odds are of Marvel salvaging what's left of this would be game and letting another company finish what THQ started?

dunno man. good question. pesonally i will only stomach this game in FP if 2K games takes over and i know that would never happen But THQ? yeh thats halarious, theyre good for picking up scraps out of the blue. This looks like something theyd finish off.

THQ doesn't make too many top notch games anymore, really. Red Faction and Saints Row are all that come to mind for me.
