Week #40's theme is .....

" Trumpets sound "

Indie Showcase-

sprite characters from indie comic books (The Walking Dead, Fables, etc). Anything from Image, Vertigo, IDW, Darkhorse, nothing Marvel or DC.

Also remember to submit your Captain America win pose entry this week before Friday

Anyway there you have it , good luck to you all . Same deal as before, PM me your submissions . I will not accept sprites that are just palette swaps . You will actually have to do some alterations to the sprites or make them using a different base than they are .

You have until Friday at midnight to enter your submissions

Also , please send me png or gif files . The jpgs I have been getting , I think hurt a lot of contestants since they lose quality .

Heh, I'm coherent enough to read the rules of a contest before I actually enter it. Not that I blame you for being cautious. But yea, I purposely didn't specify who I'd be spriting.

Didn't mean to insinuate that you weren't. I've just had other new members to the competition post their sprite in this thread or in their sprite thread. So after that whenever I notice someone new entering, I just give them the heads up.

Relax swayhaven. Warner is capable of making mediocre sprites. And by mediocre I mean only a little bit better than everyone elses standard of good. So you might still get second if hes off his game this week.

I keep telling all of you, look at the sprite hall of fame. Warner has been beat. He's even been beat by lo res sprites. The man does awesome work. But he is not unbeatable.

I really hope Warner enters. Because from the entries I already have, I think it will be a really good competition this week

I've won in a contest against warner. He makes some pretty excellent sprites, but that doesn't mean he is the best at IMT. He is one of the best here, but not THE best.

Unfortunately, I don't think I can enter this week. Midterms are pain.

Put it this way, I am not going to say anyone person is THE BEST. My statement had nothing to do with WHO IS THE BEST! We each have our own talents & it's all a matter of opinion. Each week is different anyway. One week I think Vitamin is the best, the next may be Red Ronin, Of course there are week's that I think Warner did the best sprite, etc.....

This competition was never about WHO IS THE BEST SPRITER. Because how can you even judge that, it changes almost every week. What this competition was designed for was the fun factor for all of you & the forum. Plus to help you all get better. Believe it guys, Warner has fun entering this comp. That's the whole reason why Warner even sprites to begin with. It's his hobby & he has fun doing it.

What I really like about this competition is the effort that you all put in to make the best sprite you possibly can each week. I also really like watching all of you grow & improve your talent. Each & every one of you has improved since first entering the comp. Some of you have honed your talent faster than others. Some of you are still on your way. But it's really cool to watch all of you improve right before my eyes.

I give all the contestants props for putting in the effort to improve & enter the comp when they can

Damn. I put a good deal of effort into my first submission, figuring it'd be nice to place on my first contest. But now I'm kinda worried, looks like everyone's playing to win, and on my first entree! What a way to welcome me to the forums XD
