Do you have Photoshop CS2, 3, or 4? Use the polygonal lasso tool.

Actually pen tool is better but harder to use. Lasso tool requires more concentration because you can mess up more easier because it is so loose. But the pen tool requires more clicks.

Yeah i was using the lasso tool, but when ever i use it, it leaves a light border around the image, which looks bad in mugen

If you use the lasso make sure "antialiasing" is off, or whatever it's called in CS4, I just use the color select tool to get must of it, then remove the bits and pixels left over from it.
