- I know that they can`t bring over TvC because of the Tatsunoko guys (which are pretty cool IMO), but I just read they recently got MARVEL`s license back? Is this true

Takara Tomy owns Tatsunoko and also own Marvel in Japan. Many are speculating that Tatsunoko vs. Capcom may be an effort to make a MVC3. Both Marvel and Capcom want one too, so we'll see. Akiman has already created a Thor and Super Joe for his little fantasy game.

actually yes the odds are quite high this time around. my friend a person who works at the company itself (hes in Tokyo right now) says there are a few rumors floating about around the office but he hasnt had a chance to look into it. no ones really speaking up about too much yet but there have been a few hints here and there so i say kee hope alive because the rumor has about a 60% chance of coming true.

Didn't someone from either Marvel or Capcom already hint that there are talks about this at ComicCon last year? I remember there was an article about that up somewhere...don't have the link right now, but I am willing to wager that it WILL happen within the next year or so...and I don't make bets (VERY bad luck with them usually...

i hope its like 10 bucks but it might come in at 30 because of the online feature....but then again it might be 39.99 because mvc2 is still quite popular and very high and rare

I still have MvC2 for PS2, even though I don't generally like MvC2....just isn't as good as the older titles. A chance of a MvC3 is questionable at best. They would have to fork over a ton of money to get the Marvel license back and that's if Marvel is even willing to partner with Capcom again. But the success of SF4 might help things though, who knows.

I also think the Dreamcast version of MvC2 was the superior game....the PS2 version was just lacking somewhat...especially in terms of graphics.

I personally wouldn't listen to anything Kotaku says, they are known for getting facts wrong and making stuff up. So that source is completely unreliable. We have all heard this stuff before and it doesn't actually prove anything..just speculation. I'm one that will believe it when he sees it. So until Capcom officially announces MvC3, I take any speculation and rumors with a grain of salt.

"Unreliable"? Okay bub, if you say so. I think Kotaku also rumored MvC2 coming to XBL Marketplace and PSN.

You seem in such denial of a possibility of a MvC3 game. You sound like the ones that said SFIV would never come.

If this re-release of MvC2 doesn't give some hope, then I don't know what to tell you.

I'm a realist and don't live in some fantasy world. Like I said, I will believe it when I see it...otherwise I don't listen to anyone, especially rumors and such. I'm smart enough to know Kotaku is unreliable, I stay away from what they say...even if they do get lucky and get something right. I'm the last person to be in denial of anything, I just need proof before I can believe anything. I have good reason to not have hope of any MvC3...especially the way Capcom does things nowadays. Even if it did get made, it would just end up a broken mess and be lazily put together. Not that it matters to me anyway as fighters are not my most favorite genre.

but if/when MVC3 gets done
it should feel more like MVC's game-play

for any of those that prefer MVC to MVC2 will know what I mean.

i dont see how ppl can say capcom does not have the marvel license when they are releasing mvc2 on psn and xbox live that would mean that they were releasing the game just for the other company who owns the marvel license to profit off of the game. And yea i do think that mvc is possibility and i agree with negi i liked the gameplay of marvel vs capcom 1 better then 2 but over all 2 was a much funner fast paced game.

@ nutty like ive said in other posts the word is that activision does have the liscense still and is getting a chunk of the profit

MVC 3 should be like MVC2 just because Capcom made TVC whic from the looks of it appears more MVC1 flavored and mvc 2 is kind of what the series evolved into
