I just received an e-mail from youtube... with this in it...

Anyone know of any good youtube alternatives besides blip.tv?? I'm DEFINITELY switching now. The vid has been on my youtube account since 2006....... and they just now decide that it's copyrighted.....

did you go into your account, hit the option to take care of this and dispute it as fair use?
Becides, should you be mad at the owner of the coppyright for saying your using their stuff?

WTF!!!!! i just went on metallicas youtube channel and all of there music vids where taken down for copyright WTF there the ones who the vids belong to i definatley agree youtube is going to dissapate to nothing soon

I actually went and signed up. I may start uploading there since now youtube is putting people in my subscribers list that I never heard of. Hell I'm not even subscribed to them and they are in my list. Was this a part of some updates I didn't know about? Well that and quality is really starting to get shot for me on this site so I may consider moving there and staying there.

EDIT: Well now I'm beginning to think, what site do you guys think would be better?

Subscribers are people who actually like your videos... the ones who try to become your friends are just plain stupid...

Anyways... I got some vids on gametrailers.com already... gonna put in a few more tonight, and then the rest will go in tomorrow.

The record label is probably very strict. There might be some type of agreement when Metallica signed up a contract about not uploading copywritten music videos. Although I do think that's petty.

Actually I have the Metallica track "Fuel" in my Human Torch video. I got an e-mail saying that the rights to the song were claimed. I didn't have to take it down or anything, just acknowledge that I didn't own the rights to the song which means I can keep the video up but the record company can track the stats for my uploaded video.

So what's the big deal.

Well that's the thing, You made the video, just not the music. Music videos though are created and put up on TV through those music channels like MTV, Fuse, and VH1. Uploading a official music video would be kind of an equivalent of uploading a scene from a movie, or tv show. Like Fox will take down a scene from the Simpsons if they feel like it. Same thing with a record label and a music video.

Sometimes the record labels will be nice about it and let you keep the vid online as long as you say who owns it, and disable embedding. I've noticed 100's of music vids uploaded by users on youtube with embedding disabled by request.

youtube already removed 2 of my videos, so no more music to my videos, and in my last i tryed swap sound, but is really hard find some cool music there.

I would say that if you're still going to make MUGEN videos (even your character's WIP & release vids).. go to gametrailers.com. It truly is awesome being there... the only problem is the processing & compressing time to upload vids (on ALL SITES) just makes me want to tear my hair out... but they say there that if it's been processing & compressing for more than 24 hours, just go ahead and cancel and try re-uploading... I think gametrailers.com is the best for ALL MUGEN-GOERS!
