Oh wow, same here. :O I can make single layer super jump stages, but the character making is a bit...difficult for me. Once I've perfected stage making, as in working with multiple layers, and animated layers, then I'll move on to character making. I have the spriting down, just, nothing else. XD

Best way to learn is to go out there and try. There are vids on youtube that will help you get started
