How did u discover mugen?

In the Year: 2006, back when Streetmugen was still alive and not being sold to porn, I was searching fighting videos like Street Fighter and KOF on youtube, until I saw this music video with characters I've never seen before. It was a nice music video, the music was "Boom" by P.O.D. When I saw Homer Simpson and Mario, I was like "I MUST HAVE THIS GAME". Then I realized it was called M.U.G.E.N, and I give it a test with Kung Fu Man added and the training stage. At first I thought the characters were already inside, but then I was told you have to find the characters and stages yourself. Yeah it was a pain in the @$$ looking every author's website, and 3 years later; I'm still a M.U.G.E.N mark, creating stages, modifying screenpacks, etc. Who would've thought it was, and still is an awesome thing you can do on this program.

I discovered MUGEN via searching for Street Fighter ROMs, about 3 years ago, my first character was Perfect Cell by Choujin, I was hooked from there on

i saw a video of spongebob vs ken and i was like "WTF is mugen" and ever since i've been hooked. i've lost my roster tons of times due to computer crashes or reformating, and now im trying to figure out FF and make a screenpack and character

aww damn man I remember it like it was yesterday.....summer of 06 me n ma boy was jus chillen like all day playin street fighter anniversary collection on the Ps2 jus playin some Street Fighter III 3rd strike n ma dude was jus tryin to beat the game wit everyone n then we gotta couple of versus matches in  then we were jus talkin i dun remember bout what but yea we were talkin n I was like this has to be 1 of the best fightin games I ever played cuz im A Street Fighter fanatic n cvs an marvel vs capcom etc he loved street fighter also but then he was like you know what the best Fighting game is I was like what he was like theres a fighting game you can download on the computer called Mugen I was like huh was mugen he was like you can put any char in almost like if you wanted ryu you could do it iron man peter griffin etc so I was like I need this game man you gotta help me get it so later like the next day he came over an helped me get it only if he could barrow the anniversary collection cuz i would not stop buggin him but i didn't know anything about mugen what so ever so he was like alright ill download 1 cahr for you yu must do the rest yourself because he wanted me to figure it out for myself n i got the reg mugen patch n I watched ma dude download evil dan n put him in the game so it was kung fu man an evil dan but afta that I didn't know how to do anything else lmao so i played with 2 chars....n thats how i found out bout mugen shout outs to Diamond  Tono for tryin to help me again with it summer of 07 n PMC becuase in 08 PMC taught me everything I needed to know about mugen and been hooked n adding chars stages etc ever since.....first screen pack was EVE XD

a fren told me about it and he said there are different chars i can add to mugen so i tried out and my roster became like a disaster after a few days even though i'm not so good at mugen and then now i hav more than 1,104 chars OMG and i separated them into three mugens as there are too many and i can tell you it is like WOW

I remember when I saw random videos on YouTube of fights of characters that have never been on a home console....yet. So, I started reading comments to get some clues to what it was I was watching and found out it was a program named Mugen. So, I jotted down ideas, wrote stories and fanfics and finally worked up the never to search for a working version of the game. It wasn't till 2008 that I finally found it. Sad, I know, but I’m grateful to have waited long enough, but at least my ideas are still fresh and nearly ready to be put to work. I’ve been working with Mugen since August 2008 and I’ve loved it till this day. The stages, characters, using my play list full of music for the perfect sound track. It’s a blast and a dream come true. Now, I’m working on creating new characters from all universes such as Capcom, Marvel, Mortal Kombat, and SNK. I’m really into this I and I want to bring ideas and loads of work to the table for this community. Being apart of something epic like this doesn't always happen everyday so I’m going to work hard and come full force with all the creativity that's flowing out of me.

A few years ago I looked up Justice League vs Avengers on youtube and I found a video of Sandman fighting the Justice League so I decided to look for the game and found out it was mugen so I downloaded I and a few chars. Now I have an entire harddrive full of mugen.

I did not discover mugen through youtube . So let me tell this story again.......

True Story

One night about 3 o'clock in the morning after clubbing . I was pretty bent &  accidentally wandered down this dark alley . At the end of the alley stood someone . He was tall & dark , He was wearing all black & his face was shrouded by a hood . A very ominous individual , almost seemed menacing . He called out my internet screen name " DARKTALBAIN " & spoke to me . I seemed to be frozen in my tracks like some sort of spell had been cast on me & couldn't run , so I listened to his deep , almost hypnotic voice .  He described to me in great detail about something  that existed on the internet . He said it was an engine of sorts , where all my dreams of SubZero (MK) fighting Ken (SF)  or whoever , is possible . He mentioned that characters that never existed could be made for it . That I must get involved in this because it could bring world peace & solve world hunger  . His hood started to fall & I thought I seen what appeared to be horns . I shook my head & closed my eyes to try clear my clouded/drunk vision & make sure I wasn't seeing things . When I opened my eyes he was gone that fast , as if he disappeared  into thin air or wasn't ever there at all . Because of that , I stumbled home & instantly looked up this mugen thing on the internet .

That's the last time I ever listen to dark strangers in deserted alley ways .

"With great MUGEN comes great enjoyment..."

Those words haunted me every night for 7 years. I couldn't understand what that dream meant.
All I could see was me and an ominous figure fighting eachother on a videogame. I was Superman, he was Goku.
He would beat me everytime, and then say those words.........
Until today I still don't understand them. I looked up MUGEN on google to try and comprehend.
Maybe it was some dead old romance language. Maybe it was a code. Maybe it meant certain doom.
As soon as I looked it up I saw this:

The same man who made this is the man that played against me.
I search tirelessy, forum to forum to find him again and find out why he's lead me down this path.
I can only hope that it does not lead to my end...

i was finishing up my degree in graphics design...
i had a friend there that always came to me for stuff when it came to computer....USB Jump hacks,Games,Software, and stuff like that...

well one day in class he comes running up to me telling me about this program called WinMugen.
He starts to tell me how you can have all theses different character from any fighting game in one game and even have characters never made for a fighting game in it..

i thought he was full of poop... i thought he wanted to give me a virus because of the other day when h wanted to to burn him a copy of the movie "Kids" and i gave him a copy of the "Crying Game" !!!

but i tested this lil WinMugen thing out.... and well.... ever since then... i'm here now making things for the mugen fans now!

After i destroyed all the members of electrabite, i realized that people were still buying capcom products and decided to pick up spriteing again, this time for mugen.
