Release Date: April 27, 2009 (Infinity 2009 Release Party)
Current Version: Mugen 1.0
Sentry was first announced back in 2007 along with a few sprite edits based on Magneto. Later that year during the Bulldog leak of 2007 a single sprite version reached public hands. In general Sentry remained a low priority character creation until 2008 where a Beta version was completed for the Super Marvel vs. Capcom: Eternity of Heroes game.
Robert Reynolds was perhaps the greatest hero of Marvel's Golden Age, only problem is that no one can remember him, not even himself. Bob (Robert) woke up one day filled with the memories of his old life as the Sentry. With the help of his old friends of the Marvel Universe the Sentry pieces his life together while combating his arch nemesis, the Void. Eventually is it discovered that the Sentry and the Void are parts of the same person and in order to defeat the Void it was necessary to make Robert, and everyone on earth forget that the Sentry (and the Void) ever existed.
Since then, the Sentry has joined the New Avengers under the leadership of Ironman, and later the Mighty Avengers under Ms. Marvel. The full extend of the Sentry's powers are unknown but his abilities include strength, speed, flight and power to control light. He even resurected his murdered wife on one occation. Robert suffers from agorophobia and panic attacks. He lives under a constant fear that the Void may yet again be unleashed and kill those around him.

Have you ever noticed how Capcom fighters use projectiles (Ryu, Guile, Megaman) and Marvel fighters use beams (Cyclops, Ironman, Dr. Doom). On top of that, have you ever noticed that most custom Mugen characters don't use the "charge back, forward" techniques but tend to focus on fireball motions. I've always had the thought in the back of my mind that I would like to even the playing fields on these items. In the past 2 years Sentry has become my favorite Marvel hero and in making him for Mugen I wanted to make sure I'd be happy using him often. Combining all of this gives you the Sentry we have today, a seudo Guile clone with a few new twists.
