As my first Marvel character, I orginally intended Green Goblin to be a "quick to make", "fun to play" character. Since he's on a Glider while he fights that ment he wouldn't need and walking, running or jumping animation. As I proceeded on his creation, outside interest in this character grew at which point I decided I would have to put a litte more work into him.
As development continued, I enlisted the help of Sludge in getting Green Goblin's glider to return to him after he was thrown by another character, as well as tweak a few of the current attacks. Lastly, since this was one of my first characters I found that I was not satisfied with the original sprites I made so I went back and cleaned up, edited or redrew most of the sprites and animation. What remains is a truely unique Marvel vs. Capcom fighter.
A new villain appeared in New York City, with the sole intent on controlling the local organized crime. The Green Goblin was born and he attempted to show his superiority by destroying Spider-Man. Although the Goblin never succeeded, he had learned the true identify of Spider-Man was Peter Parker. Afterwards The Green Goblin revealed himself to be Norman Osborn, the father of Peter's best friend, Harry. Peter helped to cure Norman of his Psychosis, only to have it return time and time again until the final confrontation where The Green Goblin captured the love of Peter's life, Gwen Stacey. Spider-man faced down the Goblin only to have Gwen throw off of a bridge and killed. Spider-man, in a rage, defeated Norman only to spare his life. Normal in turn attempted to kill Peter, only to succeed in taking his own. This couldn't change the fact that Gwen was gone, or that Norman’s son, Harry, blamed Spider-Man for his father's death.

One of the most requested abilities asked to be given to Green Goblin is the ability to jump off of his glider and fight solo. I had strongly considered doing so but two things have stoped me from doing it. First, I believe it would over power him too much, being able to switch between the two modes. Second, I never read a comic where the Green Goblin was fighting without his glider.
