Creation History
Orginally planned to be one of the characters made by Span, following the loss of his harddrive (and thus all his sprites) he lost the heart to continue any work on this character. Considering that this character was highly anticipated for the Marvel vs. Capcom: Eternity of Heroes game I decided to take him up myself. Starting from the 10 sprites that Capcom had made to make Arthur a helper in Marvel vs. Capcom, I completed the additional 700 custom sprites and heavily based Arthur on his apperance in the Ghosts 'n Goblins game series. In this version, Arthur also has 3 different weapons that he can use during the battle and may hold during the entire match so each set of sprites had to be made 4 times, one for no weapons, and the rest for the other 3 weapons. I had contacted Sludge to program the character since at the time I had no idea how I would get the weapon switch to work. Thanks to Sludge's wonderful programming and the sounds he procured, Arthur was completed well ahead of schedule.
Character History
The Knight Arthur, noble and strong had spent many years in service of the king. He had won the heart of the kingdom, the people and most of all he had won the heart of the king's daughter, Princess Prin-Prin. Terror struck the evening they were to be wed as Loki, the lord of the Ghoul Realm, captured the Princess and took her away to his palace. Arthur adventured to defeat Loki and his followers to save the princess to only find himself apparently trapped in an unknown time spell, for every time he succeeded in rescuing the princess the story would start over causing him to continue the exact same quest time and time again, yet never able to keep the princess free.
