I'm with Sic and did the smart thing. I already pre-purchased both the 360 and PS3 Special Editions so I can practice with both controllers, find competition in both networks and in case they release some exclusive content on either platform. :-??

That is how much I have been wanting this game.   :o

February 15th can't come soon enough... :w00t:

Why can't you pre-order? I know Gamestop stopped pre-ordering the Special Edition, but the Capcom Store has plenty...

As far as the Capcom side goes I'm really cheesed that Megaman won't come back

Marvel side though ... I'd swap out one or two characters but as it stands, it could have been worse

/_\ Pff. I just wish Capcom officially planning to release the DLC Japanese Voice System Pack for Marvel Characters, since there was some of the deal with a Madhouse, if the Japanese VA's option are not on the disc release & if after all on-disc characters revealed and DLC characters released.

Man, imagine captain america speaking english....

The only charecters I know on the marvel side that can actually speak japanese are Deadpool, and wolverine. Maybe taskmaster.

I just want Akuma's voice in japanese. Because I hate his english voice, it sounds nothing like his japanese one at all.

MegaMan fans might want to read this.......  ???

Ryota Niitsuma: El Megaman original tiene muy pocas técnicas y no pegaría bien con el resto de personajes, estaría muy descompensado. Por esa misma razón elegimos a Zero para representar a esa saga.

Roughly translates to. The original Megaman has very few techniques and does not fit well with the rest of the cast, He would be very uncompensated. For this same reason we elected zero to represent the series.

Don't you get it?

CLEARLY megaman isn't fit to represent the megaman franchise.

I mean, just cause it's named after you doesn't mean that's you should represent it... [/sarcasim]

so that's the reason why Xavier isn't in the game to represent the X-men???    [/sarcasim]

Some more bad news, this time Frank West :( but some good news for Phoenix Wright.....

http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2011/jan/24/mvc3-why-frank-west-was-cut-phoenix-wright-considered/

http://www.videogamer.com/news/frank_west_cut_phoenix_wright_considered_for_mvc3.html

Quote
A short, but informative article was posted by VideoGamer.com this morning explaining why Frank West was cut from Marvel vs. Capcom 3's roster, as explained by Ryota Niitsuma. It reads:

"As for Frank West, he was actually in the process quite deep, and in one of our high quality CG trailers he was actually part of it," Niitsuma told VideoGamer.com at the end of last week. "But we've taken him out, due to the fact that we've foreseen some extra work involved, just from the nature of his moves. We felt we could direct our resources to better use, so we've taken Frank out."

Another Capcom favourite who hasn't made the line-up is plucky lawyer Phoenix Wright. But while Wright may not be naturally suited to the fighting genre, Niitsuma seems happy to consider his future inclusion - provided that MvC3 gains a following.

"Phoenix Wright is obviously a famous franchise - especially in Europe, actually. It would be interesting to see him, although he distinctively lacks the number of moves he might have [in a fighting game]. But if Marvel vs. Capcom 3 does well, he's definitely up on the list as one of the characters to add, given the chance."

So it sounds like Frank West was in the episode 2 trailer, but was cut at some point after wards, and that Phoenix Wright has a shot at being a DLC fighter.

say what? so you mean to tell me that they could give phoenix wright moves to use in a game but somehow oh megaman had to few moves to incorperate in mvc3? this sounds real suspect to me. %-(

edit: Acey you got a very good point nright there as well. they probably would charge out the rear for that and people wil buy. more money for capcom. lol.
they holding characters hostage for bigger payoffs.  \-/o

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-01-24-mvc3-has-speed-of-light-netcode

Quote
Fighting game fans who enjoy the thrill of online competition hate one thing more than any other: lag.

But with Marvel vs. Capcom 3, lag of any significance could be a thing of the past – according to creator Capcom.

"Other than geographical lag, I don't see any problem in our current system," boasted producer Ryota Niitsuma to Eurogamer.

"It's the speed of light, and maybe a little bit of influence from infrastructure depending on where you are. So, if you're playing from Japan against someone in Sweden there will be some lag due to the distance. But it's all quite satisfactory."

Unlike Super Street Fighter IV and Street Fighter IV, Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is a three-on-three fighting game, which means there are six characters involved in a match.

This, Niitsuma said, made combating lag more challenging than with Street Fighter.

"Because I'm not on the Super Street Fighter IV team I don't know exactly what their netcode is like," he said. "But I know we have a lot more information, or we have more data transfer due to more characters and more effects. And actual game flow is a lot faster than in Super Street Fighter IV."

At the beginning of a MVC3 match players must choose three characters and, for each, costumes from a choice of four and assist types from a choice of three.

This process, for those who have nailed down established teams and strategies and wish to play online for tens of hours on end, would mean a frustrating amount of wasted time – if not for a clever new system.

"Our concept was about repeatability," Niitsuma explained. "People are going to play again and again and again. We had to make sure it's comfortable playing it.

"In terms of online modes, we haven't actually announced all the modes yet. But, again, it's about repeatability. That's our motto this time. We have three characters to pick and then you have to pick three different assist modes. We gather people who play 400, 500 matches a day don't want to do this 400, 500 times a day.

"So we've implemented a type of profile. You create your own deck and then you pre-select your characters and pre-select your assists – alpha, beta and gamma – and you can just have that as a slot. So you can just pick your combination when you want."
The tongues of dying men force attention, like deep harmony. Where words are spent, they are seldom spent in vain.

Classic megaman doesnt have much to offer i agree but X has more than enough moves from his armors and command mission.

And im starting to get scared with the online, i fear lag for my third world internet connection :(. SFIV is barely good already.
