Well I bet most of you guys let the system choose your matches "ranking" rather than find rooms with those that has a good connection.

Unlike Tekken v DR, you were able to choose if you want to fight a certain/random user and it shows how strong their connection is.
Simply stay away from the ranking mode until Namco updates that and join a room with users with a good enough connection for you.
Simple as that.

Maybe that's why I never experienced lag from a game I paid over 60 bucks for unlike a certain one time user and its called common sense, learn to use it rather than crying.

Actually I'm not really that upset about Tekken 6's online, though my copy cost 8700 yen/$87.00, I'll just wait patiently until the online is fixed since I have much others games to play like Bayonetta (Hard Mode), Dragon Age: Orgins, 3D Dot Game Hero, Shirokishi Monogatari Ex Edition as well as getting Final Fantasy Chronicles & Rockman EXE: OSS tomorrow.  I much rather have Namco add the co-op scenerio campaign first though.

The online for this is pretty bad.  When me and Akeme were playing, neither of us could get combos out.  It wasnt serious lag but enough to alter the gameplay.  We went to SF4 right afterwards and the connection was clean.  That says when SF4 has u beat on connectivity. Ur lucky if u find lagless fights, either that or the person ur fighting is suffering from lag while ur not.

Anyone who reads this and stills says that the online is better then any previous tekken game(T5Dr) or games that have been released before tekken 6 is either just being foolish, ignorant or doesn't like facts. Read this lame excuse why the online is horrible and see what the producer says about it.

Tekken 6’s new online features were highly anticipated, but so far it’s turned out to be the game’s biggest weakness. And guess what. Katsuhiro Harada isn’t surprised. The lag in Tekken 6’s online play is unacceptably bad and Namco Bandai knows it. They’ve vaguely said that a downloadable patch will be available “as soon as it has passed rigorous testing procedures”. Clearly, they did not do enough rigorous testing on one of the game’s key components before releasing it.

Incidentally, when we asked you what you wanted to ask Harada-san, the question over online play was raised. So when I asked him if he thinks there’s a market for online play in fighting games… he had to stop and think about it.

He turned to look at the plasma TV on the wall and didn’t say anything for, like, 15 seconds. I was fully aware that he was pondering his answer, but it was awkward because I only had three minutes left to ask a lot of questions, and here was Mr Tekken, intensely watching a demo of… Tekken. When he finally spoke, he brought attention to the ramifications of online play on something relatively unique to fighting games: atmosphere.

    It’s a good question. Traditionally in arcades, you would often fight side-by-side against someone you didn’t know. You also get to fight side-by-side with the home console version, but you are fighting against family and friends. You always know your opponent, so the atmosphere isn’t the same. Now you’re online against a friend or maybe someone you don’t know, but you’re far away — you can’t see their reaction or anything.

He likens the offline experience to martial arts tournaments — just being there as a spectator is exciting, and that’s what makes them popular, he said. “The whole atmosphere, the people fighting, the people watching, the interaction between the two fighters … that is something that isn’t present in online and it’s sad because it would really add to the experience.”

Harada is candid, perhaps unintentionally, about Tekken 6’s substandard netcode. “Fighting games aren’t really tailored to online play at the moment because of the lag,” he said. “But as technology evolves and the infrastructure gets better, and you have much less latency, perhaps that kind of participation — whether that be avatars watching or whatever — can be recreated.” So is technology (or the lack thereof) at least partly to blame for the crap online experience in Tekken 6? How the game recreates that “participation” remains to be seen, but Harada is embracing the challenge of delivering a seamless online multiplayer experience, and this is apparent in his answer to my final question:

“So what’s next for Mr Tekken?”

He laughs, but I’m not sure why. Maybe it’s a nervous laugh. Maybe he’s happy that he can finally get rid of me. Maybe it’s because I called him “Mr Tekken” to his face. Unfortunately, his answer is more obliging than revealing:

    There are two products we’re working on at the moment that haven’t been announced yet, so we can’t say much. But one thing I will say is [we’re focusing on] the versus aspect, and it’s not necessarily one player versus one.

the Namco patch for the lag issues is old news.
Like a lot of th eplayers here, I haven't suffered much lag. Certainly not a smuch as I did in SF4 and T5DRO.

I know it is old news but this part is new because it is pertaining to what the producer thinks of it and to just put it out there in bold print that the lag is horrid

That's ok mate, just thought you were re-iterating. It's quite shocking though that he doesn't think that highly of online play.

I play with my cousin quite a lot with the mics on and it's just the same atmosphere as it was in the old days sat in front of the same screen.

Just for the record, Modern Warfare 2 is great. Everyone should buy it.

I don't remember anyone, including myself saying the online in this was better........


I remember making a comparison and stating how to possibly avoid the lag problems that almost everyone but myself were having.

So far its ok. Its better than tekken DR I know that much but I havent had any real problems with it.
I just wish ppl would install the game in their HDD so it will reduce the load times when trying to sync up with others playing and spectating.

Lol hmmm.... anyways i hope to fight good players after patch hopefully corrects it tired of fighting AI and not so good players unless they say off the bat or i know they are not good(casual players)

heh my mistake then, so I did...........

but then again it was a couple days after its launch and there wasnt no real issue like it was reported now.

Anyway, Afterwards the problem got worse which brings me to my second comment and a possible solution if you care to go back and look for that rather than being hellbent over trying to prove a point.
