I officially despise youtube, I woke up this morning and checked my email and I got this email from youtube saying that one of my videos was in Copyright Regulation and it has now been removed. Youtube has removed my best known video, The Raging Demon. I dont know what will happen now

I had a 30 second clip i did for a contest removed, apprently the band Dragonforce has been going arround and flagging any vid that has anyone of their songs in it.

From what I know, songs can't be used commercially. Like when Marvel made the first trailer of Wolverine and the X-men with the foo fighter songs.

But this is a different case. He was using the song in a fan made video. So the song writers shouldn't have any jurisdiction over it.

That's why youtube sucks. They say don't have any copywritten material unless you have something to do with the video. Their actions contradict their own rules.

I think the infringement comes from the fact that youtube is making money off of people watching their videos, and having a song up in a video could get them sued for money they make off of advertizments and hits..

The infringement is due to the fact you are using materials that you don't legally own the rights to. You can't really blame anyone for protecting their copyright and their intellectual property.

As for music, just use stuff that is royalty-free.

Everyone who is produced under a recording label requires royalties.

The record label gets most of the money anyways.

Besides if we move to a new site and then it becomes as popular as youtube. It will be the same thing; history repeats itself such as now more people are wearing tight jeans.

I just had another video stoped, my highest watched video, just because it had brothers of metal by man o war playing. Now it told me to use audo swap but i couldnt find it.

But now i found it.
Go to uploaded videos, and just find the video that was taken down, there will be a button that says audo swap. It might take a couple of days before you can do it. It gives you a catagory list and a selection of artists and songs for each catagory..

If you really feel that way, you should be writing to your favorite recording label(s) about how you used their works and to your congressmen about copyright law.

The DMCA extremist that want you to buy the same movie for your Ipod, your zune, DVD player, Blueray player, VHS player and LaserDisc are pushing it though.

Why purchase something five times when you can dub it to a different medium yourself for free and can legally do so under the Fair Use provision and still be hit under the DMCA law.

That is what is really ridiculous.
