Anyway, you're gonna need a lot of patching done, but besides that it looks good so far.

I see more of a sprite edit in the future...
You have everything layed down right- but drawing that armor over and over? Frame by frame...This is your first character I would assume, so why not try something easier for the time being? I mean learning how to code, and create animations, etc...
