New Kakyoin

A few months ago, I was able to "uncensor" some parts of the JJBA cps3 rom. By doing this, I can rip New Kakyoin's sprites.

Also, I decided to give a few touches to some sprites. Since most of the sprites are from IMT, I fixed a few and made it face the right instead of left.

And so, I will show you some sprites to start out. KFM is my template, and I got the HP coded. Now, I'll get Hierophant Green in there, and get some sprites from other sff files.

Oh, and chances are that New Kakyoin could be CPS3 or PSX styled due to the number of missing sprites.

I have the chd file for JJBA, but not the special sprite ripping MAME. If there's anything you want in this character, then a little feedback would do.

forget psx, cps3 sprites are way better.
maybe you can use the hacked mame to rip the rest of the sprites you know.

If these is your first char I suggest that you use kfm as a base....you only need to change the sprites , adjust the anims...and edit the attacks...and you have a lot of examples to start understanding the coding

The most basic things in mugen , like stand, walk, run jump, gethit etc...its all already coded in the common1 (it doesnt has to be on the char)

Have you guys forgotten that this is a JoJo char? Obviously he knows the basics, but the stand have it's own piece of code.

Okay guys, sorry for taking long. I was working on the actions for New Kakyoin.

Oh, and heres the catch: The first beta WILL NOT have the planned appearance. That will be in future betas, and, to make sure I have enough pallete space, or enough boxes, I will have separate hyper portraits. That will be in a future beta, since the first beta will have only one pallete.

New Kakyoin will be CPS3 styled, but seeing here that it is now impossible for me to get the hacked MAME, the supported sprites I got from this site will be used, and possibly, I will use Orochi Herman's ripped Hierophant Green sprites, recolor them to look like the new one, and use them instead. I might also use all of the Rubber Soul Sprites and edit them to look like Kakyoin. This character will be very...strange. I thought he would be cooler that way.

The actions I got done are:
Stand
Turn around (Crouching and standing)
Walk forward/backward
Jump up, forward and backward
2 attacks:
-Light Punch
-50% of the medium punch, the close medium is not done

Hello guys, this is Slivern, and I've got some news for you.

So far, I've switched from using KFM as a template to the "accidentally found on esnips" character, Baddarkness's Polnareff. I've been able to get the walking forward and backwards animations in, and some actions Kakyoin might use because its easier.

That's the good news.

What's the bad news?

Well, to make things worse, I, POSSIBLY, need a sprite ripper for the job, but I doubt it because we are either dead, we left MUGEN, or there isn't any available. I can't do the sprite ripping myself because of "lack of resources." In fact, I'm considering quitting this WIP for something else I've been working on (which, I will not tell.)

So If there isn't any available, then I'll consider quitting due to "lack of resources." However, I will try to get some moves into this guy like Emerald Splash, Tie Wrap Snake, and others. Those, hopefully, are the ones I can put into this character since their are already sprites for those (Orochi Herman's Hierophant Green Sprites Recolored.)

Okay, that's all. I'm hoping you guys are still alive. If not...well...let's see what happens! I have some doubts on this project. I have a feeling I might not finish this since I'm at the verge of quitting. Anyways, I'm working on New Kakyoin right now, so I'm doing my best. So yeah...Goodbye.

Thank you for your encouragement. I will do my best.

EDIT: Got good news. TOTALLY. I recently got the latest (final) version of American Idiot. I snooped around his sprite file and found CPS3 sprites of the New Hierophant Green! Good, GOOD, NEWS. TOTALLY.

Bad news? Well, the Hierophant sprites apparently have more colors than I thought. Possibly by two colors. I had to use some of the Hierophant colors from New Kakyoin's select portrait. This will be fixed in the mean time.

Also, I've been thinking about it, but the combo stuff for the JJBA screenpacks STINK. So I'm thinking of the possibility of New Kakyoin having his own combo system (That means you'll see the combo system that works like the CPS3 version, meaning you'll see 'FANTASTIC!' or, 'BINGO!' in the future betas.) This is, I repeat, A POSSIBILITY. But I have yet to learn how coding works.

I'll put the sprites in and see If I could get all this stuff in the coding. Otherwise, I might just have someone do the coding for me (As of now, I do not need anyone for the job. The sprites will be done first.)

Okay, that is all. Those of you who don't know how The GCA and the DGCA files work (The ones that are used to contain MUGEN characters in Japan like American Idiot) I might also make a tutorial later on the use of these files.
