You can also sign on srk and 8 way run if yiour not on facebook. I signed right away about a week ago whe harada first said he wanted the petition. Also related to this the team behind the past 2 (mediocre) titles has been fired so if it comes likely it will be in the sc1 vein.

I think this is just to see how many people want it. To see if it is profitable.

I'd sign a petition against SC5.  :(|)

Unless they added more ridiculous gamebreaking guest characters from other franchises.  :cool

Why? I saw this topic and played SC4 again, I have already filled up all 50 creation slots (did that in about a week) and earned all the items. I thought it was a great game. The only thing I wish it had is a mode like that in SC2 where you went on the long journey, with special matches, although the Tower thing is kind of like that.

Hanzo teamed up with my character (of myself) would make one great game. However SS is SNK and I don't see it happening...but then again..

Agreed, I loved SC2 for a while, and SC3 is STILL awesome but SC4 was a huge disappointment.  Not only in features but in the weak storyline, I don't know where they are heading with it anymore.  Hard to follow a storyline that won't properly transition the boss explanations and such.

Not saying this to bash, I mean I like SC and respect it.  It has its Fanboys like me in MK who will love it through and through so please forgive me if I am disrespecting it here.

We didnt see that Tekken X SF coming no way man. who woulda thought?
That was an extreme move bro ya cant front on that :-"..

But for the fanatics like me and some others the spider senses did go off in imagination just a tad when we saw the classic
import Rpg Namco X Capcom long ago though :-??

but keep an open mind. I think we are gonna start seeing a lot of cross overs and more Cameos now

EDIT

I just had a thought. what if BC Rearmed Radd Spencer made a Crazy Cameo in The 3rd installment of Lost planet?

Personally SC4 was my favorite. For me it seemed every game in the series is better then the prequel. As for story, meh, the whole game revolves around 2 plot devices, so obviously its not going to be as heavy as Mortal Kombat or Tekken. Then again stories in fighting games sometimes usually ruin sequels when companies want to run a clean slate in sequels.

As far as actualy gameplay I felt that Soul Caliber IV was the best. I feel like it had the tightest physics and the most reactive controls. It definitely didn't have the weapons variety of Soul Calber III, but that's okay because it made Amy a main character instead of a bonus character  :cool

If they could take Soul Caliber IV and improve upon it with a better character customization and a more indepth story, I think they'd have a real winner. Also: Necrid.

As far as gameplay Sc4 was the worst. Sc3 started this trend but let me explain this to you guys. In Soul Calibur you have 3 attack buttons that do 3 different attacks horizontal swing, vertical swing, and kick. The first two are supposed to do what it says on the box and in Sc1, 2 and even in Soul edge this was the case. However in 3 and 4 lots of vertical moves tracked so the evasiveness and the fluidity of the sc 8way run movement was made null and void. Not only this but alot of the horizontal moves which are supposed to hit side stepping opponents whiff unless they are in a position were a vertical move would hit. This makes the game really mash friendly and SC4 was the biggest perpetrator of this. Not trying to piss in anyones cheerios just pointing out the facts.

Also: Necrid.

He was made by the author of Spawn for SC2, so I don't think he has a chance.

Well it's good to know the team responsible for SC3 and 4 were fired. I hated those two games, I hated SCIV the most. I could not stand that garbage. SCII is where SC peaked IMO

lol mash friendly? Clearly you never played against pros. I tried mashin' on this one dude online and he beat me to a pulp. My favorite out of the series is 4. Soul edge for me was meh, SC1 was better but also meh, the only reason I even liked 2 was because of Link in it, then I liked 3 because it expanded more on the weapons. My only real gripe with 4 is the breakable armor.

You can go into a classic battle (I'm not sure what it is called) and it won't do the armour/extra health thing. It does annoy me when the whole character design revolves on a mask or chest plate and then it gets broken and they look all wrong.

Yeah. I made a lot of custom characters on SC4 and they always look messed up when something breaks. Like when Shao Kahns helmet breaks off he looks nothing like Shao Kahn.

Did you read my post? I did not state that I myself nor anyone I play against mashes. I said that due to the altered mechanics of certain moves and their properties are in direct conflict with the design goals of the game. If you like to mash fine for you the fact that you were trying do so would speak to my point that it is indeed a viable tactic that you yourself recognized and attempted to (albeit unsuccessfully) implement. I will agree that the customization options were very enjoyable and would hope they are included in the next title. However the simply engaging combat from the first title is what i am so desperately hoping for. I am also hoping that they take the design back to the kung fu epic crouching tiger hidden dragon approach from Soul Edge/ Sc1.

Also news for those who have signed the petition Harada himself has placed it before the board at Namco and it has been discussed they are considering starting production but Harada said more signatures will help. So put it everywhere you go on the net and let all your friends know were almost homefree.

I know I am not an SC expert, but do play it and know alot of it but... it seems to be most prone for mashing in the sense you CAN MASH and win 40% of the time, EVEN online.  This isnt really true with SF because of the difficult inputs and with the older MKs(MKDA, MKD, MKA) because of its very specific combo system.  Just my two cents.
