how to rip sprites from a gif??

i have a whole char but the char is broken down into gifs and i was wondering how to make the gifs into bitmap form for i could edit them.
  if this is illegal  please pm me the answer.

Get this program called "Irfanview"

Open the gif in Infanview

Go to extract all frames

Save as .png

You're done!

or you can open in adobe imageready then save the sprites
