How do you add a sprite with the same color values and color positions as the rest of the sprites in the sff? In other words, how do you make the palette of the new sprite match the palettes of the sprites that are already in the sff?

What I awlays do when making a character is build off of a previous sprite, working with 256 colr bitmap. Meaning, I create my new sprite in the same file as a previous sprite then save it as a separate file when done. That ensures they run off of the same palette.

Barring that, there is also a cleaning tool in fighter factory. You could run the new sprites through it using the palette from the character, to see if it will clean it correctly and make it run off the palette.

Finally, if the sprites are the same palette, but for some reason the new sprites aren't changing colors appropriatley in Mugen,it may be that the new sprites aren't set to shared palette. To do that, open fighter factory and scroll to the new sprites. If the box on those sprites entitled "shared palette" in unclicked, click it and save the .sff.

Usually to add a color to a character that's not in the palette, what I do is open the palette editor and add the values of the color in the blank spot. I then save the palette, and then clean the sprites.
