I've finally decided to make this one. For now I'm just spriting him, and I won't take it too much fast.
He will be in MvC style, and I just have some ideas of his moves. Any help would be apreciated.
I'm first doing his basics (walk, jump, crouch, and regular attacks), which I have an idea about what it'll be.

Edit: It's MvC, not CvS. Sorry for this mistake... o.O#

Everyone keeps surprising me (pleasantly, I might add) about how creative all of the Robot Master WIP spriting projects are so differientiated from eachother.

Another MM Boss in the works, awesome. :thumbsup: Though, making him CvS style means he won't go so naturally with the other MM Bosses that are being made (or are made). Either way, looking forward to this. :)

Actually I'm using Power Fighters sprites, which are already good.

But since he has very few moves there, I'm having to to do it all. Some ideas for his basics I'm getting from Motaro, like his High Kick.

The only problem I have with Power Fighters is that they're not in proportion with MvC sprites (put Power Fighters Mega Man next to him and you know what I mean), but other than that, it looks good.

I've already figured that. I don't know if just rescaling him will solve this, so I'm not bothering with this now.

Did you mean bigger?
Also, I don't think I could apply Megaman style on him, since hes totally different from any other Robot Master. But I plan him to be MvC

I get the MvC and PF sprites of Megaman, and compared him with Centaurman. The top sprite of Centaurman is the same as the one on the bottom, just resized in about 150%.

For now I've finished all the basics of Centaurman (punches, kickes, jump, crouch, defend). But now I'll slowdown a bit, cause of personal issues, but I'll continue spriting him on the weekends (and some fridays). Here is the punches:

I say for a striker, either Knight Man or Yamato Man would fit him pretty well. As for a special move, I think he definitely needs some kind of trampling. :)

I think I'll use the Centaur Flash in a super, otherwise it would be cheap freezing the enemy all the time.

I'm thinking on making a boss rush with old and more recent bosses. It would start with a Classic Boss, then a X boss, then a Zero Boss, and a ZX boss appear, and make time go back, making the way for a Zero Boss, X Boss, then finishing with a Classic Boss. I don't know if I will make edits or keep the original sprites.

Man, thats pimpin!  8)   For one of the ZX bosses (I figured since you used two of each respective series boss, you might do the same with ZX), you should probably use Hivolt the Raptorroid(sp?), since there are sprites of him and tons of other zx bosses here (as well as Choronforce):

So what I've sprited by now:

* Small and big portraits;
* All basic moves (walk, jump, crouch, hit, defend);
* All basic attacks (punches and kickes);
* Special moves: Centaur Arrow (low, medium and high), Horn attack (the same from Power Fighters);
* Supers: Spread Shot (like Megaman 6, I thought it would be better as a super), Centaur Flash (the one he will call the bosses from past and future. I think it will cover all the screen and stun the opponent imeddiately, but will be blockable);

I think he need a extra move or two, so any ideas will be welcome.

Centaurman should do a paralyze attack (like the centaurman in megaman 6) and perform a good hyper after that. A good attack could be a combo of kicks like a horse. By the way excellent job. Keep going.

I've done a counter move too, which make Centaurman appear at the back of the foe and kick him. I think I'll add to this that funny Jojo effect from Shadow Dio.

Eh, it looks I'll need help for the coding: I now have a routine of work/school/bed, which means I have only the weekends free, and I use Linux on my PC, so no Fighter Factory for me, unless I get some Windows XPirate to use.

I've done just his grab sprites and some minor things by now. I'll see if I can get something new...

Any help would be most welcome!

I've made his throw sprites. He will grab the opponent and throw it away:

At first I intended to use this one as his throw. He would grab the opponent with his horns, and throw away.

Nice he's MvC style now. Much more fitting. Man there are so many Robot Masters being made. Good luck your sprites look great!

Here's something from Wikipedia that might help you with his attacks.

"Centaur Man was built by a Greek company to serve as a guide around the monuments of ancient Greece. He was given a time/space distorter that allowed him to teleport or cause stretches in the time/space continuum which could temporarily freeze enemies. He is also equipped with a plasma rifle whose shots break into seven bullets when they rebound off a wall. He often tramples foes as an alternate method of attack. (Kazuki Kidoguchi)"

This is just a normal resizing, without any filters. Very crappy, but...

Now a good resize. I would just use this, but the problem is that it makes the pallete become very big. I wanted him to look like this, but with the pallete of the first one.

using photoshop you can make similar colors the same to reduce palette size, however you would have to do this to every sprite

What I always do is I upscale it, and touch the sprites up manually. Very time consuming, but in the end it's worth the trouble.

I didn't had much free time lately(cuz I'm working now), so I haven't done something that could be shown here. as soon as I get a good free time (and stop being lazy (a.k.a. playing my DS)), I'll sure continue my work on him!
And I'm still figuring a way to resize him without loss of quality, so any help is welcome!

Now i'll have some spare time to work on Centaurman again, and I wanted to show something, so here's my last size test on him:

Now it looks more like what I want. I've used a cheap trick on photoshop to achieve this! Just adjust some edges, and I think it'll be ready for coding!

I knew about that. Right now I have all the sprites resized, and I'll be cleaning then for a while.
I wanted to show something more, but my internet was cut off, so I'm acessing through a Lan-House.

cant wait for this, he looks like an interesting character, i like the size laspacho did him at as i dont think he should be too big because hes from megaman at the end of the day :P

I would say unless you want to make the torso a little larger like I tried to do maybe just keep him in power battle size since that is a actually a pretty decent size anyways.   ::salute::
It might be hard to clean up tons of sprites.

Well, he isn't that big, it's because I took that pic directly from Fighter Factory.

Well actually.. if I compare him to Metalman, he's a lot larger.. and all the Robotmasters are supposed to be smaller than.. let's say Jill... Could you show us a screen of him in Power Battle size next to Metalman (or any other MvC Megaman char)?

Yes, he is meant to be big. Not much bigger than a normal person, but about 1/5 as big than Megaman since Megaman is as kid.
And I plan to make him like a Juggernaut: parry two hits then get pushed in the third hit

i think you,ve found a nice size for him and your recleaned sprites blew me away,his size looks perfect for a boss character to put up against megaman and magnetman ect ,your deffo heading in the right direction keep going  :thumbsup:
