Post by: Ryu # 20 on February 05, 2008, 09:28:35 AM
I came across some Hi-resolution characters and wanted to know what Hi-res Mugen is.

Hi-res mugen its almost the same as normal mugen (often called low-res) but have better graphics *points at hi-res MvC2 screenpack*

yes, they work but they will look a little pixelated...download Hi-res Mugen, see how Kung fu man looks compared to normal mugen, and that`s how all Normal res chars will look like! :)

No, Hi-res characters will look the same on normal mugen, provided the settings are changed to Doubleres = 4 in mugen.cfg. Hi-res is always on Doubleres = 4.

Umm... less pixels would mean worse looking sprites.

I got WinMugen+, but never bothered with Hi-Res because all versions had some form of Hi-res select and/or stage support. Even with WinMugen+, I only have 2-3 hi-res stages. The rest I either have the lo-res versions of or don't want.

Personal preference, really.
