Thanks to everyone who waited so kindly for the release of Arthur. I hope everyone is happy with the work Sludge and I put into this character. There is a readme file that explains the moves and AI control. I have also included Arthur's MvC-EoH stage so you'll have that to use in your own mugen.

Just about to post this I've redownloaded him several times just to be sure and hes indeed not in the character folder but, i did tryout the stage ;) which was very nice additon to his release :w00t:

Another amazing char!! I love how he plays.

Some things
-I'm sad because his hypers don't have anything to do with the original special attacks he had :( When I did the D, DB, B 2 punches I was hoping for his lightning attack while he has the lance out, and the other specials I cant remember right now while he has the other weapons out.
-IMHO the logo in the super BG doesn't blend in well as it should.
-The flames that hit the floor for the torch seem too small to me. Especially for an MVC styled char O_o
-I think that the crouching HP and the crouching MP should be reversed.
-some of the super BGs have transparent backgrounds it seem? I just find it weird that I can see part of the stage because the super BG has some parts cut out due to transparencies.

Very nice char, you and Sludge did an amazing job. This is a good year for Mugen, Arthur deserves a nomination for char of the year =D> Oh and Happy Birthday :)

First of all grats on ur birthday and the release of Arthur!

Now for some on the fly feedback for a quick training mode session (more later)

- His torch Hyper does to much damage (almost a whole lifebar?!)

- His Horse Hyper is glitched (he stays on it :s )... NEVER MIND THIS IS IN TRAINING MODE ONLY my bad soz

2 more things, lol

-Sometimes when Arthur wins, no winpose is displayed.
-The D, DB, B kick move seems pointless to me since he already hes a sweep (down and HK). Also, that moves would probably look better with dust coming from behind his foot instead of after images. I dont know, the move itself just doesn't seem Arthurish.

I had a different version of Arthur made by an other creator, but yours beats it all the way! Congratulation on the release and happy birthday Acey!! You've just made a Ghost and Ghouls fan happier!!

I really like his unique gameplay, very original and creative!

I found a glitch however, I only noticed it in Arthur stage so it might be a stage glitch, but the horse super gets stuck.

afew things
Medium punch,i think more than one punch launcher is enough and for it to be medium punch only when holding a large weapon i find it very odd, when he has a small or no weapon he can do a super jump by holding up but the opponent doesnt get launched for the medium punch
his foward dash/hop looks sort of odd maybe a different animation than his foward jump would suffice
check states 995/996/998: has some debug errors there (might have to do w/ floats)
state 3000: needs a helper from state 3001 (debug flood for that move)
his attacks have infinite priority, look at his clns make sure that behind the red clns are blue ones so that his limbs can be hit while he attacks

I tried him out and found nothing really wrong with him. everything seems perfect. But one thing I think his Crouching Medium punch's Red Clns box should be a teensy bit wider for more reach. But that's just me : P
I really enjoyed him playing through arcade mode.

This is the kind of feedback which only makes this character and any character better. Thank you for giving Acey feedback. For the record, Acey redid all of those sprites. With Sludge's great coding experience, this made for one hell of a character release  :)

Thanks everyone for the good wishes. It really makes me happy to see so many enjoy the work Sludge and I did on this. This is the first character that I waited to release until he was finished (obviously there is still a problem with the Torch Hyper) and the positive reception has been appreciated. We have spent so much time on mugen over the past while on so many characters, 11 for December's release of the project from me while Sludge has also done 7 more in addition to the two he programmed for me. If you like Arthur then you'll love the complete Marvel Vs. Capcom project.

wow thanks for releasing Arthur. I've been waiting for ages for him to come out but it has been worth the wait. He's a great char, so much congrats to Acey and Sludge for making him so awesome! His stage is pretty cool too  ;D The only things I noticed have already been mentioned like the horse hyper getting stuck or that he needs a couple more intros + win poses.

Thanks Acey + Sludge for a great character and for making a mvc striker into a full-fledged character

I found something wrong with the stage though =/

characters can't go all the way to the end of the left side of the stage, which brings up a problem.
Characters can just use LP in that corner as infinites (any character). And when Arthur does his horse hyper in that stage He'll get stuck at the left side of the stage. Unable to get hit while on the horse.

Hello, Acey.  I must say that Arthur is very well made, but I have a suggestion.

Make him have more weapons, like the triple dagger and crossbow.  Also, his D/B/2 punch Super should change according to his weapon, just like in the game.  Of course, it's been years since I last played that game.

He also seems to be a tad weak, but that could be because he's MvC style.

EDIT:  I noticed something with Arthur's Torch Super:  When you have the opponent stand a few pixels away from Arthur (or the flame's starting point) and perform said Super, it shaved 924 HP off of KFM, and could possibly KO others depending on the stage's width!  I suggest that you add a "powerdown" code, much like Jigglypuff's sing attack, so that it'll hit the same amount of times, but won't deal near as much damage.

Also, his torch as a projectile has "spam potential", meaning if you constantly launch a Strong torch at your opponent, you'll corner them, eventually KO'ing them.  I suggest you limit the range which Arthur throws the torch, and set it so that the fire has to completely disappear first before you shoot another one.  Also, to follow with the game, the blast could be a bit longer and larger...

I found something wrong with the stage though =/

characters can't go all the way to the end of the left side of the stage, which brings up a problem.
Characters can just use LP in that corner as infinites (any character). And when Arthur does his horse hyper in that stage He'll get stuck at the left side of the stage. Unable to get hit while on the horse.

yea I noticed the same, it u view the stage in stage viewer it looks like an added piece

i just played with him, great char, but i put him against the english Homer, and when he through homer it was an instant kill? then i tried trowing him myself, i think FP+FK and again after a few attempts it was another instant kill, just letting you know, can u or anyone confirm this?

How ever, its kinda hard to preform Air Combo's since he Super Jumps higher than the launched opponent.

Yeah, great release, but I believe you forgot the knives as a weapon and maybe a hyper where he takes control of some big monster from the game, like Jill does on MvsC2. Just an idea.

Found a bug but dont know how to explain :-??

Hit four attack buttons simultaneously and he starts flashing like a hyper mode, right?

If you do the Horse special right after, during the attack the EVERYTHING, except Arthur & Horse, is flashing in that orange color until the special is done.

Damm, that game was awesome.
I wonder if It will come to the virtual Consol to the Wii.

Anyways, here is my question on Red Arremer.
Will one of his supers or hypers be that he will use one of the Crests he used in the game.
Like the Earth one he would like hit the enemy with a few punches. or like the ultimate where he transforms into a huge beast and shoots a laser or something.
Just a small question.

Anyways good job on Arthur.

Sorry for not posting in a lot of time, but I have been busy with school, (who also means no Nemesis progress and neither Roll, Megaman, W.W.H., Deadpool, etc) but looks that I will have vacations at last (and get lazy because I'm in order to get my Wii).

I like how Arthur come to play, He is descent and makes good team with Thor. I'm Trying to contact Loganir and take some tutorials from him in order to made Nemesis cool, but I have hard luck.

No, no new Arthur was released. The one in the EOH Beta is an updated version featuring a new AI. All of Acey's WIPS on the main page are old beta versions, but they've all be updated significantly. Once their status is closer to 100% and the game project is at a better percentage, Acey may start releasing the updated versions (again, maybe because that's all up to Acey in the long run).
