Ok so I have released several builds of my fullgame project and one of the most common feedback I get is "the engine uses too much memory,gpu" and upon research I found that OpenGL is the cause of this. However switching the render mode to; System reduces this but when doing this in mugen 1.1 all png sprites appear black. Is there any way to resolves this? An alternate method or a compromise? Any help would be greatly appreciated

As far as I know, no. You need opengl to use png images.
