This is great news. I think 2D would be cool because it would keep to their tradition and the 2d street fighter games are excellent. Also they could improve the 2d fighting engine and show people that 2d certainly isnt dead :thumbsup: On the other hand though if the game has 3d graphics like those shown in the video i think it would work - they look sick!

It most likely will. That's kind of how SF EX games have played and it's how the KoF 3d games played, I'm almost sure that it's how SF4 will play. Although I personally hope there's going to be a lil more in the system version, because Mortal Kombat has Konquest, Tekken has had 2 beat em up minigames and that Devil Jin game, and Soul Calibur games have their own story, I wouldn't mind a minigame where you would be able to go and run around the times of Street Fighter kind of like Konquest from Deception. I just hope SF4 adds more things than a fighting mode. Hopefully online play to boot.Awsome, I think it is gonna in 3D, but will play like a 2D fighter.

KOF MI2 was pretty much a perfect 2d style 3d fighter.
If it's like KOF MI2 then I'm definitely buying it, although I really hope SF4 gets other modes.
I'm almost sure that sf4 will be 3d because of Capcom saying "it won't be coming out anytime soon" and we all know 3d games are harder to make then 2d. :P

Yeah but the process of making a 3d model isn't as simple as a head swap. you have to take the game manufacturer in consideration...killzone is not made by capcom plus tekken tag was a lunch title and was by far better than ex3 and maybe even better than tekken 4 graphically.
cus when the tekken development team tried opening up the stages into 3d in tekken 4 which will demand more work on stages so they had to reduce the polygon count for the character models....or els ps2 wouldn't be able to handle it all.
all in all it turned out graphically lower (bad in my opinion) for both characters and stages.
fighting games are usually the type of games to use as graphic showcases cus simply they are not as big as adventure or rpg games so you can't compare a fighting game and an adventure game in terms of graphics....they don't require all the power other genres demand....so basically it's all about graphics and good game play.
if you have a fighting game with bad graphics and good game play then in my opinion it's a half failure.

The simplest way of solving this dispute is to post pictures of a franchise that exists both on the PS2 and the PS3. The same can be done with XBOX and the 360. Me, I see a dramatic change in the graphics processors...but :-??

When your running through a map, you don't want to be all too late and then have hoards of enemies against you, or maybe it's the other way around, you don't want to run around before the enemies even appear, that'd be too easy.
Although I liked how they changed the brutes so you have to knock their helmet off to actually hit them in the face.

I checked some web about Q, and found the info that Q was based on the character names Robot Detective from the cartoon called "Robot Detective". Awsome, I think it is gonna in 3D, but will play like a 2D fighter.
AHHH MAN! Someone beat me to this, I was gonna say this right after the vid but I started looking @ the other posts and found this, I Also think it'll play this way... 3D minus the "3D fighting style" you know, like tekken, soul calibur... plus 2D fighting style = BEST FIGHTING GAME EVER!

WTH is 2.5D? It looks like they may have a better counter system and it could be 3D. I hope it is but htat will mean I'd HAVE to get the 360 \-/o dont want a next gen console really....or any after. But I LOOOOOOOOOOOVVVVVVEEEE SF boy!2.5 usually means between 2d and 3d.
So I'm guessing they are saying Cel shading.
