Post by: OldGamer on May 21, 2014, 04:04:59 PM
Does anyone here have any gimp experiences and can show me in baby step by step on how to take this one image and make it look nite time ? Please don't worry about the character on this image. I just want to learn how to make the image its be night time

The fast and dirty way would be to "Add blue to the Alpha color" in the transparency menu, then paste the image onto a star filled background. (Oh and maybe erase the sun there and put in a moon, or just add some craters to it to turn it into the moon.) Also just mess around with altering the shades of the image before you anchor the pasting. Just mess around altering the shades and junk after that transparency bit i mentioned before. I don't know what version of gimp your using but go though your sub menus till you find the "add color to alpha" option.... that's what you need at first. The rest is just what you can do with your skillz and practice.
